I would expect us to be an underdog vs Bama. Maybe OM.

IMO, 10-2 is the floor.

Such a dumb take. Hes had multiple oc’s and was at a dumpster fire of a program before this. To pretend like he cant improve is asinine.

Sorry, but that is just a fact.

No, thats an opinion.

QBs are needed to be good at

Do they need to be good at moving the chains? LSU was third in the SEC in this category being 10 behind the SEC leader. What about third down conversion rate? LSU was second in the SEC and 12th nationally in this category. What about passes intercepted? Well if we can just consider Daniels we wind up tied for first in the SEC and number two nationally.

I’m going to go ahead and offer up the opinion that most coaches think pretty highly of the categories I just pointed out. Yes, I know we didn’t do nearly that good in total passing yards or passes completed 30 yards down field. No one is saying that JD doesn’t need to improve or doesn’t have limitations, I think the only point some of us try to point out is that he’s not nearly the at QB liability that some here want to percent him as being.

You referred to "staff" and "coaches" (pl). Nothing in your post was restricted to a position coach (sg).

But FTR, the QB coach alone who is getting paid cannot be criticized? Just implicit trust at all times and fronts?

So much for that. I do not share that assessment, but sure.

It would be much easier if Nuss and JD were both black or both white.

They feel the same way, they felt about Jordan Jefferson and Brandon Harris.

I believe LSU is going to waste an excellent development year for Howard or Nuss by playing JD

I don't agree with this but I understand why some may think that way.

getting probably the same record, around 7-8 wins

You lost me here. We have an easier schedule next year IMO.

Week 1: Sept. 3 at Florida State (in Orlando)
Week 2: Sept. 9 vs. Grambling
Week 3: Sept. 16 at Mississippi State
Week 4: Sept. 23 vs. Arkansas
Week 5: Sept. 30 at Ole Miss
Week 6: Oct. 7 at Missouri
Week 7: Oct. 14 vs. Auburn
Week 8: Oct. 21 vs. Army
Week 9: BYE
Week 10: Nov. 4 at Alabama
Week 11: Nov. 11 vs. Florida
Week 12: Nov. 18 vs. Georgia State
Week 13: Nov. 25 vs. Texas A&M

We don't know good our passing game will be with Howard or Nuss,

True with Howard, undoubtedly. I think we have an inkling with Nussmeier. He has a habit of putting up questionable passes when he feels pressed. Can he correct that? Maybe. He and JD have opposite problems quick to pull the trigger vs slow to pull the trigger.
quote:

but we do know we will see more of the same with JD next year,

We actually don't know that. JD was up and down this year. People are quick to point out how much better the defenses are in the SEC than in the PAC-12. But somehow the fact that JD's first season in the SEC was much better than his last season in the PAC-12 is irrelevant to some.

I think it boils down to we really will not know until the FSU game and then the Miss State & Arkansas games. I list those three because I do not think one game is enough to judge things on and Grambling is not a game to gauge anything on. With one P5 semi-neutral site plus SEC home and away games we should have a clearer picture by mid-September though we could know before then if whatever decision is made is very bad.

I also think there will be actual competition for QB1, 2 & 3. However, I do also think that it is much like boxing, you generally have to clearly beat the belt holder to take the title from them. So I expect JD to start if the competition is close.

Majority of the board doesn’t hate him: but the threads started are from people who all they do is shite on the kid. That’s what needs to stop.

I would have linked the couple I responded to recently but those threads were wacked.

If I run across some others I will post every one of them to you here.

I thought the same thing when I read that poster lump UGA into the Arkansas and A&M performances. I think Jayden played well in the first half against UGA. The fuss has always been which gives us thes best option. Nuss will commit more turnovers, but also uses our receivers better. There is also concern that teams will gameplan to force Jayden to beat them with his arm, and he hesitates to do that sometimes. The concern is that we will see a lot more games like A&M and Arkansas, because his game isn’t balanced enough. I like Jayden, but I think Nuss looked better against UGA, and that’s tantalizing.

He did. And major props to him for the FG drive before the half.

Too many fans are all-in one way or the other.

And here we are.
Now having a critical opinion of a QB justified or not is considered "Hate Speech".
It was just a matter of time.

What are you talking about?

Can’t imagine viewing the entirety of my life through the same lens you do, is it not exhausting?

It’s not about hating Jayden. The best QB was started for this year and I believe the best QB will start next year.

It’s more about the people that think Nuss would have been a better QB this season. Those people show that they don’t trust Kelly to make the right decisions. I trust Kelly and believe he will start the best QB

Have you not read this thread?
Two options.
You are being disingenuous or you are stupid.
Which is it?
