Haven't rented in a while, can't find if return location is different than pick up

It's been a while for me there but my experience has been all the rental cars are offsite, about a 5 to 10 minute bus ride on the shuttle.

been to LAX one time and rental out and in was by far the easiest part of the trip. Give yourself plenty of time on departure day is all I can say
that terminal is nuts

If you're lucky. I've expereienced 20-30 minute shuttle rides depending on the traffic. The rental car fabilities are not close to the airport.

Rented from there last summer. We returned to same place we picked up (short shuttle to LAX).
Was very fast for us both ways on shuttle.

3 hour wait for a car reserved weeks ago this weekend, a real crap show

You pick up and drop off at the same location at LAX.
I usually fly in to LAX and out of Ontario. Much easier airport.

I turned a car in to Hertz at LAX last year. The shuttle ride seemed to be a few miles from the terminal. It did not take us long because it was a Sunday morning and there was no traffic but I was warned on this board that the traffic jams along that route can be terrible.

LAX car rental is the worst. Try to taxi or at least taxi downtown and rent a car there.
The worst thing about LAX is the rental car shuttle.
The second worst thing is the horseshoe drive that goes to all the terminals.
I try to catch the "Flyaway" bus for $20 to downtown. It's a coach bus that runs non-stop, not a city bus that takes forever.

Look into renting through the Turo App. Ever since I started renting through turo, I have saved 100-200 dollars per week long rental. You can usually get a better vehicle for a cheaper price and they can usually meet you to get the vehicle.

Hertz shuttle bus at LAX is a crap shoot, depending on traffic. I've done it in 15 minutes, and I've done it in an hour.
