Area 4
40-42ish degrees
ESE wind but minimal
Bow on oak flat

I hunted this spot morning and afternoon yesterday and saw some of the best deer activity I’ve ever seen locally. Yesterday afternoon I saw 10+ deer. Does being aggressive towards unfamiliar does. Yearlings rolling around. Then about 30 mins before dark, 2 young bucks came in and started running the does all over the place for 30 minutes, grunting, and ultimately sparring with each other. I’ve never seen chasing like that around here in the woods. If the rut isn’t full on, it’s close.

I was stuck in the stand for an hour after dark and I think one caught me moving getting down. We’ll see how today goes though. Still waiting on one of the bigger bucks.

ETA: my buddy killed a nice deer in Folsom day before yesterday. Hocks were black, smelled like hell, and his neck was huge. Just an FYI for guys in the area.

Been here at the camp since cmas.
Lots of movement, but no mature bucks. Seeing 8-10 doe a hunt. Spikes, 4pt, 6pts, 7pt. Every hunt doe and bucks. Just nothing of size. They young guys are running does around, and sparring. I think still a few days away from primetime here

7:10 heard a grunt. I look that way and 40 yds in the woods a deer slipped by. Dont know what it was but I guess a small buck cruising the edge checking for does

Agreed. Had one in foodplot walking in. Had 5 in food plot at 7:50 yesterday. Then a spike at 9am. Just had a grunting deer pass but wouldnt come into foodplot or corn. Definite increase in activity in the last week

Mature buck just stepped out at 150 yards. Made a rub on the tree line and was gonna head the other way. Tickled the rattle bag a little with some grunts and turned him to me but still didn’t have a great look at him. From what I could see it’s another big 6pt.

Got a good one yesterday. Lebeau, LA. With two other 8points bumping a group of does.

.308 Bergara suppressed.
