He could have been one of the best QBs ever at LSU. What a shame.

Biggest what could’ve been (besides Cecil I guess)

RP was his own undoing not CLM

Really changed the whole trajectory of the program. The domino effect is a lot to take in:
-2008 & 2009 seasons look way different
-Les probably never goes super conservative with the offense
-Does 2011 still happen the way it happened?
-Is Mettenberger still needed in 2012 or have we already recruited someone else?

This!
If RP is there, Lee doesn't have the 2008 Pick-six festival.
If Lee doesn't get booed in 2008, then Miles doesn't go ultra conservative.
With adequate development and a coach that isn't ulta conservative, Lee is probably a very good QB in 2012.
There is an alternate universe where Les got hired by A&M for $10 mil a year and they are sucking under him right now.

That’s pretty much reality.

Glad he’s doing ok. Seems like he figured life out.

That 2009 Squad with him at QB would’ve been something. No doubt we beat Florida at home and probably beat bama in T-Town.

He was the number one player in the country in 05 recruiting class.
Exploded in immature behavior and insanity. Definitely would have had LSU in the chase for championships and rolling.
The dynasty may have been here and not in Tuscaloosa if he hadn't lost his immature mind.

Yep, but he did play an important part in winning the 2007 national championship when Flynn got hurt before the SECCG and he stepped in and won the MVP of the game throwing for 240+ yards and a TD (with a hurt finger too). And then chaos ensued and we ended up in the title game.

Not how it works, otherwise how do you explain the program post-Joe Burrow?

Dude is quite possibly the greatest that never was. God I would’ve loved to see him have significant time in the post Russell/Flynn era.

I’m not a fan of playing this game. Next thing you know Burrow never comes and 2019 never happens, then Brian Kelly isn’t here with a chance to become the fourth straight head coach to win a natty, thus making LSU the only school to ever accomplish that feat
I’m happy with where the program is right now and the oppprtunities ahead.

LOL
That OL was awful. Couldn't run or pass block.

My freshman year at LSU was ‘08. I was depressed when the news came out. Was so pumped to see him lead the squad after being the most heralded recruit I could remember when I was in high school. Couple that with what he did in the SEC title game the year before. The sky was the limit.
He gets kicked off the team, then the Hurricane came and was dying during that App State game lol. Good times. Disaster of a season though.
