No matter how you slice it, he used to coach here and now he is at our chief rival in the SEC West...it's that simple. We play his team on the field and in the living rooms of recruits every. Of course, he understands this and says ALL the right things in front of the camera...but make no mistake what he says in front of the camera is not how he really feels.

I dislike the guy just because the comments that came out of his mouth about the people of Louisiana and the comments he made about Les Miles and the team that went to the Sugar bowl before playing Notre Dame.

And lets not forget that he's coaching a SEC team thats on the same division.

That and I think we probably win one more NC in addition to last year and definitely another SEC title.
Yeah, because following up a National Championship season by losing at Auburn (again), getting trounced by Georgia, and losing a bowl game to Iowa really foreshadowed an era of domination.

I figure I'll at least wait until Miles has even ONE season here with as many losses as Saban had following up his National Championship team in his 5th year before I'll consider not laughing at these kinds of comparisons.

Joey, I agree, and further, shouldn't we wait until Miles has a season as bad as ANY of the WVMD-coached seasons (other than 2003) before we pronounce the decline of the program under Miles? (Do you think that Nuts4LSU is buying any of this though?)

Would it be wrong if I turned down a piece of arse just because I was scared of attachment? Like her becoming attached, calling nonstop and such?

Anywhere other than another SEC West team. That's just wrong man...if he would've went back to the Big 10, I don't think many would have a problem with him. Going to Bama though is crap.

Saban doesn't owe LSU anything. You guys act like he was born and bred in La. He wasn't born down there, he never attended school there or anything else. It was a job for him...just like Alabama is a job for him. He turned LSU from the laughingstock of the SEC in the 90's to a true elite program, and won 3 championships in five seasons there. He also left behind the talent that would win two more titles for you. He didn't need anyone's permission to go to Alabama. He left the NFL when he realized he hated it, and the Alabama job was open. What was he supposed to do? Turn down 32 million and a chance to coach at one of the best college programs in the nation just as to not upset his former employer? Please, none of you would do that professionally...so by criticizing him, you are just being hypocritical. If you were miserable at a job, and you got offered a huge contract at a company that was the rival of one of your former employers, you wouldn't turn it down just so you wouldn't upset your old bosses, now would you? I don't hear UF fans hating on Spurrier for doing the exact same thing--going to the NFL for a couple of seasons--and then taking a job at an SEC division rival. Tubberville did the same thing switching from OM to AU. Nutt just did the same going from Arky to OM, even though he was forced out. Just business baby, but nobody cries about any of those situations like LSU fans do. Man up...move on.

I love how having Saban for the past 3 years would have guaranteed a win in the SEC Championship game in either 2005 or 2006 and a National Title in one of those seasons.

First off, Saban's teams never went undefeated, so 2005 is out with the USC and Texas domination.

In 2006, maybe we have a chance, but Saban NEVER won at Auburn, and do you guys REALLY think Saban wins that game at UF?

I would even go so far as to say we don't win the national title last year. We don't beat VaTech 48-7 under Saban, and we don't come back to beat Auburn and Florida under Saban. That's just the truth. Show me the evidence that guarantees extra victories in 2005 and 2006.

Fact is, we are 40-8 since he left. Anyone complaining about that should be shot in the face with a urine cannon.

People forget that we did the same thing to Michigan State that some fanatic fans see Alabama doing it to LSU. Saban did a good job when here keeeping the good players in state. Never thought I would see LSU when another NC other than 1958. Don't blame Saban for trying it in the Pros. I believe he regreted and second guessed his decision after he left. Thats life, people need to move on and accept what positive things he did for the program. To Coonass, this isn't a seperate thread; now think about it.

I love Nick Saban to death as a coach. As a man, I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire.

OK Saban,
here it is...
besides the lies,
we hate teams and coaches from the SEC,
specially the WEST (regardless of name)
.....guess what

You fit the bill.

You put yourself in that position-
made yourself the target.
...no longer welcome at Thanksgiving.

not to mention that you are now coming to your EX home and trying to do harm to LSU.

There are huge huge differences. Saban came after LSU right from the get go as soon as he took the Alabama job. He took all the credit for LSU's Sugar Bowl win. He offered our S & C coach, our OC and our OL coach more money than they make at LSU. Then he went after several of our commitments in recruiting telling them that he made LSU. He made the coonass comment trying to be funny. This is not even close to the same ball game. Saban made it personal when he went after LSU.

So he should have just turned down that fat contract to go to Bama so he wouldn't hurt LSU fans' feelings and taken less money for an inferior job in the Little 10?

I don't dislike him at all. I just get tired of Alabama fans insinuating since Saban is there coach that = LSU going down here. Stupid logic.

But again, I do not dislike him at all.

So if you took a new job you wouldn't go after your old accounts or try to put together your best sales force?
