I enjoyed it. Really violent & pretty absurd but I liked it a lot.
”I gotta watch” is hilarious

Is this a definite No for grade school kids? The violence doesn’t bother me as much as the sex and language in films.

Laudx#,
Zero sex but the language doesn’t skimp on the F word.
The violence is pretty remarkable though but that’s up to you & your kids. #spoileralert
They do a home alone bit at one point but instead of stepping on a nail with his foot, the villain gets a nail through the bottom of his chin

This is absolutely NOT a movie kids should watch.
I dont know how old your kids are, but it's very gory. It's one thing if it's Marvel movie violence, but some of this would give kids nightmares.
SPOILER
A guy gets impaled through the eye with a Christmas tree star, which subsequently sets him on fire. That's one of many scenes with graphic violence.

Good to know. We decided to let our 10 year old watch Stranger Things two months ago, and we're already on season 4. I thought he would be terrified by this season of the show, but he's ok. He's been lobbying to watch Violent Night because he's a big Hopper fan, but reading this...I think we'll hold off for a few years.

why in the world would you want a young kid to see graphic violence? I'm not advocating to shield them by any means, but it can't be healthy for a young person to see it.
This is more of a question than an opinion. I dont have kids and have no clue what they're exposed to now via electronic media.

That’s what I was saying, I didn’t know exactly how violent the movie was. If it was 1980s Die Hard level violent, we’d probably let him watch it. Now that I’ve read this thread, we’re not letting him watch it anytime soon.

Saw this tonight and really enjoyed it.

It should be the opposite. What warps impressionable minds more? Mean language and something that's normal necessary human biology... Or crazy murderous violence being shown as cool and normal?
Wouldn't you rather have your kid smile seeing nudity.
Than smile seeing someone's head getting blown off?

Welcome to 2022 where some parents allow their gender confused children to watch adult men get raped to death with rusty swords.
*and this isn't directed at the poster who asked if this is appropriate for kids.

I don't understand the point of this movie. Santa Claus and violence just don't mix. Even the commercials are confusing for young kids.

We saw it last night. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

It's explained that he was a viking warrior before he became Santa Claus.

Yeah Americans are weird about sex.

Well we were founded by Puritans.
As Cooper says in Eurotrip, "America was founded by prudes."
I did a foreign exchange to Switzerland as a 10th grader and was hocked to see naked boobies on regular TV. That Happy Juice Ad in the movie is meant as a joke but its no lie. While Natural Born Killers was rated R in the States but in Europe it was their version of X.

Guy gets hung by chains, survives, and then gets brutally shot up. Guy gets head blown off with visible splatter on the window. Guy gets strangled and neck broken as he falls down stairs, taped to a chair, and sent back down the elevator. Dead body gets thrown off of a building and lands on a cop car. Guy has to pick shards of glass out of his foot. Guy gets shot square in the forehead so bad guys can take over main floor security station. Guy gets shot twice in chest. Guy gets shot twice in chest in front of door with said blood splatter. Guy gets shot multiple times while on top of table from underneath. Guy gets knees brutally shot up by automatic weapon. Guy falls off building in slow mo.
Not mention half naked couple gets tossed out of office where they were having sex.
Personally, I would not let a 10 year old watch Die Hard. It would still be rated a hard R even today.

Saw this today. Loved it and Harbour was great. Do NOT take pre teens to see it. In other news, Beverly D’Angelo must have had a contest with Carrie fisher to see who could smoke the most since 1980. Her voice is rough.
