The Boutte scape goat narrative was invented by the JD honks to deflect any criticisms of him. The truth is Boutte has been a leader and great teammate all season long. It was Boutte who ran to encourage a distraught Malik Nabors after both muffed punts in the FSU loss. It was Boutte who stepped up and squashed the riff between the WRs and JD in the players only meetings back to back weeks. Listen to Kelly talk about his leadership in the locker room, listen to the previous staff talk about having to force him off of special teams because he wanted to contribute any way he could. Not returning kicks mind you, a star WR willing to sacrifice his body on ST for the team. He’s the opposite of a prima donna but somebody had to take the fall for our QBs deficiencies in the passing game.
