A QB still has to get him the ball and a receiver is in only as good as his QB. So an argument for Brock is actually an argument for Stetson.

By that logic a receiver could literally never be good enough, that’s retarded

1. Caleb Williams, QB, USC, 4,075 pass yards, 37-4 TD-INT, 86.5 QBR, 66.1% completion, 9.1 yards per attempt, 10 rush TD

Odds -2200

2. Max Duggan, QB, TCU 3,321 pass yards, 30-4 TD-INT, 80.2 QBR, 64.9% completion, 9.0 yards per attempt, 6 rush Tds.

Odds TD +2000

If Heisman voters go with the last thing they see than Duggan can steal it. But I don't know how you penalize a guy for getting hurt in the last game and still playing.

The painted nails and fake injury would be enough for me.

Now think if Stet passed for just half of his 3,300 in the 4Q? He'd be at 5,075 yds and have 30 TD's.

Why would he get a 50% boost in yardage for 1 quarter of play?

If he averaged 1,100 per quarter, why would he get a bump to 1,700 for the 4th quarter?

Well faking or at the very least highly over exaggerating the extent of that “hurt” as your team continued to get destroyed would be one reason.

When Stet wins B2B titles and he's the MVP of both the Peach Bowl and the NCG this place will go into full melt mode.

All of these QB’s are 25 years old

I don't like Stet and didn't long before this, but I think most people just don't understand the argument for him being invited to the ceremony. He won't win, but any reasoning you give for him being there ends up being bad logic.

He was 20-something in the COUNTRY in efficiency.

Why would any athlete go half speed and hobble while it's still a game and a playoff berth is on the line?

I don't have a problem with Stet being invited (especially since it pisses of Vol fans ) but USC is a 7-5 team at best without Caleb. And he had a combined 9 TDs to 1 turnover in the Utah losses.

The thought police might swing this vote.

quote:

I think Caleb is the best player in America. But the discussion would be over, if he didn’t put (F—) Utah on his fingernails. Because I’ve talked with some Heisman voters this week, and that’s their big hesitation.
quote:

We saw this last year with the guy who said he wouldn’t vote for Aaron Rodgers for NFL MVP because he didn’t like Rodgers. This is even more ridiculous.
quote:

Changing your vote for a performance-based award because you don’t agree with something a player did off the field. Off-field behavior also isn’t something we’ve seen change the Heisman vote in recent years. This is an award that Johnny Manziel has one of.

The Heisman has always been a joke and basically Big Man on Campus for Top team award but now it's about not best player but do we like the guy? Did he offend us? Did he hurt our feelings? frick Utah? Every school passes out shirts that say FU to whatever team...UCLA is FUCLA to USC. We've become such pansies.

There is a reason he is -2200. They know. They poll enough voters to feel solid about it.

Hendon Hooker was named SEC Offensive Player of the Year by the press and SEC coaches yet Stetson Bennett is going to NY as the SEC rep.

Either Heisman voters aren't watching the SEC or just lazy and voting for the QB of the #1 team. Same as it ever was.

What most offends me about Williams is how obvious it was that once his scrambling ability was taken away, he had no clue how to read a defense and a blitz coming and couldn’t change the play at the line to avoid it in any way other than scrambling. I have watched a few USC games this year, and basically a big reason his stats look good is his scrambling ended up with a free for all in the secondaries and receivers that were usually 10 -15 yds wide open. I will give him credit for his athletic ability, but scrambling 15-20 yds behind the LOS in a good conference or eventually the NFL is just going to put your offense in a crap situation.

I get that he has a great arm, but I don’t think he will have the critical thinking skills that will help a team that is almost certainly going to be at a disadvantage already when he is drafted early.

Honestly, with how much a team has to overpay the players at the top of the draft, it doesn’t seem to work out that well for the crap teams there to buy the year’s latest QB flavor rather than build up the team with more likely to hit players and use a journeyman QB with league experience while drafting a less celebrated QB who knows how to run an offense in a less expensive spot.
