He will not make a roster at the QB position. My god, he plays hard, is fast, but NFL QBs should be able to pass downfield, at least somewhat accurately. That's not bashing him, hell I would love for him to succeed....but it will need to be something other than QB.

As of the bowl game…. He is the best QB on the roster. Could that change by game 1 next year? Absolutely! The best player will play and we should be happy about that whoever it is.

Hey man you do you. I have a hard time calling a position player the best on the team when he can't do the most important component of the job, which in this case is passing the ball down field. Teams know how to play jd now. He was bad against Arky thank god for #40. He was bad against a&m. You can only go so far at the top of college football hiding a QB that can't pass. That's just the truth. If you can't see the talent level difference between the arm of JD and nuss...well...cheers.

It’s not that JD is “bad”. It’s that he’s just not a particularly good QB.

If he couldn’t run, he would never play because he doesn’t pass real well.

I'm not dogging him. I think he plays hard and I admire his perseverance. He just can't pass unless it's 5-10 yards. Objectively that will be exposed, and actually has been. It is what it is. Everyone sees it, but some just won't be objective.

Realistically, I don’t see how you could push the QB that just got you to an SEC championship out the door.

That little midget in Tuscaloosa pushed a two year starter aside for a freshman IN A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.

That used car salesman in South Cackalacky benched a senior in favor of a true freshman to get them to a national title.

Sometimes you have to hurt someone's feelings in order to move forward.

I would love to see Nuss get significant PT in the bowl game to see if he has turned a corner. If he has, then maybe the future is here.

Wish JD luck and thank him for what he gave us this season.

I could say no easily. It’s not about feelings or “loyalty”. It’s about who is better. That’s it.

JD should declare for the draft . After all the coaching , he still can’t read defenses and throws late . Time to move on . Open receivers running all over the field and he has decisional paralysis . Next year let Nuss and Howard compete for the job .

Exactly. Also, people want to say it was JD...I can tell you also objectively that the defense, and specifically the adjustments house made against State, Auburn, and arky were a huge reason LSU went 6-2. Not to mention, bama isn't normal bama, and secw was weakest in years.

He may get drafted, who knows, I've seen some bad draft picks. But, you can't tell me an NFL team will keep a QB on the roster who literally can't pass downfield. I'm sorry.

Nuss/WH fit his scheme better than JD does.

If I’m BK, I try to keep Nuss and WH which I think WH would stick around for

It is also about roster management.

If BK thinks Howard is truly the future, I believe he lets Nuss walk, if you start Nuss and bench JD next season Howard is gone.

Whether that would be the right decision or not, I don't know, really no one knows but it is something I'm sure he will consider.

If I had to put money on it, I'd put money on JD keeping his job and nuss transferring. Again not saying it's right or wrong but it's just what I feel will happen

I don't see Howard sticking around for 3 years of Nuss before he gets his shot.

Your right but does LSU win those games with a qb who is prone to throw picks?

Same question, does LSU win if the QB throws 2 picks because that's what Nuss is avg, 2 picks a game in his time on the field

I f he is not willing to give Nuss some meaningful snaps in the bowl game, I do not know what to think of BK's ability to understand the position of QB. It would be very Milesesque.

And considering JD will probably be injured most of the bowl practices.

Nuss actually looks like he is a QB. 5 doesn’t.
