CBK plays a ball control style of football, control the line of scrimmage and don't turn the ball over.

Agree, but you also have to include the paly action in this mix. Paly action was missing all season. Why? JD can't deliver the deep ball. Nuss can and will.

lol Drama queens…. Where do you people come from? Needs to sit down with players? Needs to make a decision? The best player on the roster will play. If JD stays, he will play. Unless, Nuss just improves dramatically, which is possible. Odds are, strictly based on the past, JD will start if he stays, so get over it now.

Maybe I'm naïve, but I don't think you have to push either out. State that it's an open competition in the spring and that he's open to a two QB system next year. If either decide to leave under those conditions, so be it.

BK makes $10 mil/yr... it is not that hard to tell JD that the 2023 job is going to the one who best stretches the field and due to NIL and Transfer Portal Nuss is going to get a game evaluation in the bowl game.

Message to JD is to get healthy and work on downfield passing game.

Message to Nuss is we want the 2019 offense scheme back. You are on the clock in the bowl game.

Message to Howard is let the competition begin...

JD5 was great all season for us. Not taking anything away from him. Definitely wouldn’t have had the season we had without him.

With that said, do I think Nuss gives our offense the best chance to score? Absolutely. WRs are the biggest scoring threat that we have.
Idk if I can watch another full season of zero pass progression and not taking shots downfield. When teams figured out Daniels, our offense was stagnant. As we have seen many times, LSU does not need a dual threat QB to win championships

No pressure? You might want to rewatch. He got rid of the ball quickly, and on one occasion showed his mobility and strength breaking free from a sack, rolling out while keeping his eyes downfield, and delivering a strike.

It’s not drama, it’s just the reality of where we’re at with college football right now. Not saying we’re in trouble if either of those guys leave. I’m just interested to see what happens.

Realistically, I don’t see how you could push the QB that just got you to an SEC championship out the door.

Good observation. Realism is not often considered on this board, but JD is your starter next Fall.

FWIW, Walter Football is picking Daniels as the 6th QB in the draft.

What's round does that equate to?

Yes, we stay with the best player on the team who incidentally is the QB, who just happens to be unable to throw downfield...but he plays, unless a guy with all the tools, coming off a 300 yard performance against the #1 d.....has to improve DRASTICALLY...lol.

If bk let's nuss walk, and he goes elsewhere and lights it up, like will likely happen...bk will lose a % of the fanbase. Especially if it is at a rival sec school.

Interesting. Maybe he takes his chances in the draft.

Not saying this because I want it to happen, but after four years of starting, a degree in hand, and now getting injured, could you blame him if wanted to give the pros a shot? In whatever league that may be?

So, lie to Nuss in other words just like he did to Brennan?

The 6th QB taken has fallen to the following rounds:

Year - Round
2022 - 5
2021 - 2
2020 - 4
2019 - 4
2018 - 3
2017 - 3
2016 - 3
2015 - 5
2014 - 4
2013 - 4
2012 - 3
2011 - 2
2010 - 5

IMO JD would get picked in the late 5th or early 6th round. He better take it now because I don't believe his draft stock will get any higher.

Not at all.

It may be worth it for him to come back and improve. If he becomes more decisive and pushes the ball down field with accuracy, he becomes the most dangerous QB in college football next year. But the injuries may have him questioning whether he should come back or not.

Well you think JD is the best player on the Roster. That doesn't speak much for your IQ.
