We missed 21 tackles Saturday night. Previous high this season was 12.

At least according to Hester. I think 19 was the original number, but was corrected after reviewing the film. Speaking of which, he said it wasn’t an effort thing or a toughness thing—he said we weren’t getting pushed around as much as we thought in real time.
Said it was more being unsound in our gap integrity. For both the DL and LBs. Were there for the tackles, but the missed assignments put us in awkward positions, over pursuing, and poor technique, which led to the missed tackles. Like we weren’t in a position to break down and take on their blockers and Achane straight up, we were more reaching off balance and couldn’t finish. Said it was strange that a unit that well coached all year that had been so disciplined did that in the last game of the year. Jokingly, but serious, said it may have actually been because of Jimbo’s antiquated offense. We just hadn’t seen much old-school 22 personnel all year and weren’t able to handle it.
Not excusing it, just giving a potential explanation that might not have been due to lack of effort or being worn down and being physically dominated straight up. We were physically dominated, but it may have been mainly due to just being out of position most of the night. So a sliver of hope that that can be corrected and not just “if A&M was able to just play straight up and dominate our defense, we’ve got no chance if Georgia does the same thing with better players.”

Achane is fast as shite and slippery as an eel. And he was finally healthy for a game...

Too bad Jimbo didn't suspend Moose Mohammad for wearing sleeves in our game.
The sad truth is that A&M got a lot of bad breaks this year and could have easily won 3 of the games they lost in the SEC. Their talent was not that of a 4-7 (1-6 SEC) but more of a 7-4 (3-3 SEC). Catch them on a good night and they can do what they did.

Their talent is 6-2 or 7-1 level.
Now, their coaching is not!

Yep. I hate the Aggies as much as the next guy but they still have the 6th highest talent composite roster and lost most of their games by a TD or less.

They put everything together finally for 1 game and we unfortunately just didnt show up to play and this was the result.

A hand played a great game. When a runner is feeling it like that there is not much you can do except make some key tackles on early downs and get them passing. Now covering Muhammad was the other problem on a few big plays.

At least 15 of them were on #6.

And as far as missed tackles go, PFF charted us with 20 missed tackles on defense, definitely the high on the season by a good margin.
We played 16 different defensive players this game (which is really low); 14/16 of them missed at least 1 tackle. The 2 guys who didnt were West Weeks who played just 5 snaps and Sai'vion Jones who played 23 snaps.
No 1 player missed more than 2 tackles, either. So it really was a group effort there not tackling.

It's funny how some people need a film breakdown to see the obvious. I have read so many headlines or titles to threads about Jimbo Fisher's "masterful" game plan, and other hyperbolic terms, and yet it was quite apparent to me that LSU simply did not tackle.
Josh Pate, in his usual sanctimonious tone, acted as if Jimbo had proven all of his critics wrong about his archaic offense, by saying "it looked pretty modern against LSU"... Or something to that effect. And I just had to roll my eyes. They handed the ball to Achane 38 times... is that really modern? No, it's not. But since LSU proved to be incapable of tackling for virtually the entire game, there wasn't anything else for Jimbo to decide, but to just keep handing it off.
It's not complicated what happened.

16 actually according to PFF to be exact, Achane forced 16 missed tackles. We also missed 2 tackles on 3 Connor Weigman runs.
165 of Achane's 215 yards rushing came after contact
This means on 38 carries he averaged just 1.3 yards per rush before contact...and then 4.4 yards after it. That is such a bad stat for us.

Huh? This isnt what Pate said at all. In fact after talking about the game he said the worst thing that can happen for A&M now is Jimbo believing his offense works and makes no changes in the offseason and they just get more of this next season.
Pate has made fun of Jimbo's offense all season

You watched a different video, then. Because he absolutely said what I referenced above.
And I know he has made fun of Jimbo's offense before. That's the thing that annoys me about the guy sometimes. He says things right in line with everyone else, and then when something unexpected happens, he starts to wag is finger at people and act like we should have all seen it coming, and that we were wrong to doubt whoever the topic is about.
And he doesn't direct it at any one team or fan base. He passes out the sanctimony pretty evenly.

The team wasn't prepared, they overlooked A&M
That's the bottom line

He only made 1 video about the game post-game that Ive seen, at no point does he say what you are saying:
LINK
Again, ends the video saying the worst thing that can come from this is Jimbo believes his offense works and doesnt make any real changes to the offense there. That isnt an endorsement of his offense by any shape of the imagination, as again, he's stuck to his guns all year saying his offense is outdated and expired.
This is the only video about the game he made after the game I've seen. In fact he specifically says this was the same offense all year just got a big individual performance against us (from Achane). He even makes fun of Jimbo probably going around saying "I told you so" to people about his offense.
Not trying to pile on you but I think you just kind of made up that out of thin air or completely misinterpreted something.

A few people have mentioned it, but not enough stock has been put into it IMO. But this defense HAS to be worn down, and I think it showed Saturday. The lack of depth/shortage of numbers eventually catches up to you.
I think our guys were motivated. I think they were ready to play. I just feel like they looked tired and a step slow. I hope they find an extra burst of energy for Saturday--but I am afraid that it may not be physically possible.

What did he have to say about the QB performance?

I watched and graded film for 3 days. I will publish my break down with images tomorrow and will link from this forum. I will summarize the results below:

I brought this up about us only playing 16 total players on defense. That is extremely light for a defense. 7 of our 11 starters played at least 90% of the snaps. Guys like Wingo, Ojulari, Garner, Ward, Penn, Brooks and Baskerville either didnt come off the field or came off for a few snaps at most.
The lack of defensive depth really hurt us this game. This is where you really miss guys like Bernard-Converse, Smith, Richardson, etc....its so tough for defensive linemen especially to play an entire game like they have been,
