I was in 8th grade when I got my first cell phone but it was a Nokia that could only text/call with limited minutes and texts except on weekends. Smart phones didn’t come out for a few more years

I agree with this. TikTok is China's e-nuke, but I think getting a kid just a regular phone for safety purposes isn't a bad idea.
