Not much mention of Nuss as a potential starter. Are we just writing him off as a transfer? We need some experience in the locker room next year. It would be tough to just throw Walker out there. I HOPE he is "the guy," but I think (hope) Nuss will show us the potential we think he has.

I also question the responses of “Daniels is going to grow and develop with another year”. I think it may be more likely that the light comes on for Nuss over the off-season and fall practice. JD has what, 30+ starts at the D1 level and he still can’t read defenses? The true freshman with 3 starts outplayed him last night with help from running game and miracle catches too, but still, could hit a few slants and crossing patterns in stride.

QBs that can extend plays are valuable in college and Walker is probably not that guy.

Kid can run 40 yards in 4.6 seconds. He MAY be that guy. Lotta QB's can "extend plays" that run slower than that. Joe Burrow runs 40 yards in the same time, and he's been known to extend plays.

Ahhh…the Rant expecting a redshirt freshman who many have never seen throw a pass to come in and have us competing for championships.

Name the redshirt freshman in the SEC that have led “championship” type seasons. I’ll hang up and listen.

Who thinks JD will lead LSU to a "championship" type season? I'll hang up and listen.

Didn’t JD just lead us to the 2022 SEC championship game?

Didn't JD just lead us to a loss to 4-7 Aggies? The SEC West Champ just lost to the division basement dweller the week before the championship game.

That loss wasn't just on JD

Daniels is like a streaky basketball 'scorer'. Not a pure shooter, not consistent with a high basement, but tends to make some great plays (mostly with his legs, but he has the arm to do it passing too). I think Kelly has been trying to figure out how to get him to just play without thinking, use the talent he has. Every so often he hits a rhythm, but you'd want it to lock in at some point. We thought he hit that after Fla, Ole Miss and Alabama, but then he did at Arkansas the same thing he did at Auburn.

I'm not in the camp that he needs to be ejected, because this is his first year in this offense. If he came back and was consistent, it's a W for all parties. If he's beaten out by Howard, so be it. That's ultimately what we want, anyway.

You're dumb. We MUST move on from Daniels. His ability to extend drives with his feet isn't more valuable than being able to stretch the field and extend drives through the air. He also can't read a defense worth a damn.

Daniels has more to learn for sure

Learn more? He's not a freshman. He's a senior who's started more than 50 games. You can't compare this season to 2018 with Burrow. That was Burrow's first year as a starter. Daniels is a 5th year starter.

People keep harping on that, but he isn't in the same offense he ran at Arizona State, and this isn't the same personnel he had there either.

He has 2 games left this year, and with 2 solid performances he's going to have around 3k passing and 1k rushing yds. Against UGA will be tough, but the bowl opponent will be a step down from that.

As for people bitching about this last game- take the scoop and score away, put in the TD at the back of the endzone that was ruled incomplete, and we're tied (assuming we kick both times and make it).

If Walker Howard can throw down the field, we are in great shape. Did not see much of that at all this season from JD5
.........and didn't see it at all against the Aggies.

Just like Weigmann, Walker should have been given a fair shot to play.

I know this sounds crazy but I think he cares more about his numbers than he does wins and losses. How often has a coach stated in a public presser that our QB is being too conservative? That's usually not the nature of a QB.

It's a waste of a year to play JD again, he's not good as a passer.

Yeah who wants a possible 10 win season next year anyway —- the way this board has turned on JD is disgusting…

maybe- would be interesting to get some receivers who don't pout, get separation, and dont drop the ball.

Riiight. So LSU goes to the SECCG, JD led the team and he’s the best QB since Burrow. But, if LSU loses it can’t be a JD problem-the team lost.
