scoop....here is some real talk

the ozempic is glp-1 and is essentially a mircle drug for weight loss. you have zero excuse to not drastically change your diet while on that.

if it goes out of stock again get on any of the glp-1 or get from peptide science but stay on the glp1

start low carb and start eating in a caloric deficit and start eating 150g protein a day minimum. at your age, 200 would be better

no calories from liquid unless its protein shake

and you need to start lifting weights, no pussy as 5-10lbs im talking starting a free weight progressive overload lifting program i.e. a linear progression program.

want to watch your risk come down

1) stay on medicine
2) get diet dialed in
3) drink 1 gallon water a day
4) lift weights progressivly 3x per week
5) walk 10k steps/day

and why would you ignore your health like that? stop that shite. its important.

good news is many times type 2 can be reversed with the above presciption if you take it serious, lose enough weight and stick to it.

Let’s just say a normal non diabetic that was concerned about diabetes risk, could they get on this miracle weight loss drug? I took metformin for a few weeks and I don’t think it did anything

Yep. It curbs your appetite big time and when you do eat, you feel full much earlier so you eat less.

I was diagnosed in 2019. Probably had it for quite a few years longer than that. Have some neuropathy issues in the feet. A1c was 8.5 with initial diagnosis, and through diet and metformin got it down to 5.7.

Wanted to see how much i could go back to being “normal” which was a bad idea. A1c went up to 10.4. Recent blood work with strictly diet went down to 7.0. Now I’ve started lifting and walking along with diet, and fully anticipate in the 5’s when i get my bloodwork done in January.

It fricking blows, and I hate saying it, but it really is a lifestyle change unfortunately. You can do it, you just have to force yourself and you eventually get used to it.

Have seen close up the end of life of someone with Type 2 diabetes (and ALL the things that join the party over the years). It is a slow motion train wreck.

I am not a Dr. I am a mourning family member.

Here is my advice from this experience.

Move more and regularly
Eat well
Hydrate well
Get yourself regular sun light
Enjoy some delicious food now and again, but it should be the treat, not norm.
Weight loss!
Most importantly, get this right...right now.
Do not normalize it

Good luck and best wishes to that end! Sincerely.

BMI alone is a bull shite metric to make you pay more for life insurance.

To a point yes, and it was based off basically one race of people and applied to all. However, if your BMI is 90+ like one of the patients I scanned earlier this year, it’s safe to say you’re well within morbid obese territory.
