What makes LDS (Louisiana Dealer Services) a better auto extended warranty?

The dealerships keep telling me this but I can't figure out why.

Because it is right there in front of you.
LDS Louisiana Dealer Services is probably a trade organization that is owned and managed by the car dealers cabal to maximize profits for the dealers and screw the customers.
Here is from their website:

Louisiana Dealer Services Insurance, Inc. (LDS) was formed in 1977 by a group of franchised automobile dealers that wanted to offer Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI) policies to its customers. Since inception, The LDS Group has added additional insurance products offered through its wholly owned subsidiaries.

Bc they make a higher profit selling you that one.

Because the commission the dealership receives (limited lines license with La Dept of Insurance) is at least 60%. So let's say the ext warranty policy cost you $2k, then dealership receives at least $1200 from LDS.

That's what I thought. So a regular manufacturer extended warranty is probably just as good.

I needed a transmission replaced in my Silverado and it was paid for with zero hassle. The out of state repair shop told me they never had an easier time dealing with LDS as compared to other extended warranty companies.

all I know is they reimbursement me at 100% for a new AC compressor, which exceeded what I paid for the extended warranty. Had the check within 2 days of submitting the claim.

You mean just as bad?
Extended warranties are never good for the customer.
Just buy a reliable vehicle and take care of it. Pay the cost of an extended warranty to yourself by putting it into an interest bearing account. When you pay off the car, start adding the sum of that payment into your account.

Didn’t know they had gotten into that business, Brother Broke.

I just don't feel like wrenching on this car

The reason dealers sell LDS is they are a local company that has been around for 45 years. I purchased a LDS policy on my vehicle and my transmission went out on a road trip. Not only did they pay almost $9,000 for my transmission they also provided me with a rental car while the vehicle was being repaired. And they are definitely not the extended warranty company that calls trying to sell you a policy.

LDS pays out much better than the other warranties. They actually do take care of the policy holders better. Take it from me....I do inspections for LDS and it is a very, very good warranty service. They actually get mad at me when I tell them I can't find a problem with the customers complaint.
LDS is the best extended warranty out there in my opinion.

Because LDS is a locally owned company and the dealers who sell their products generally have the authority to get claims covered that the manufacturer extended warranty would not cover. I have experience dealing with numerous companies and in my opinion LDS is the gold standard in auto warranties.

As far as warranties go, they're actually good to deal with. They took care of me years ago while on vacation in Tennessee. Them and Volunteer Chevy.

I did break down in Opps Alabama and they towed my Ford which I had an LDS policy to a local transmission shop in Enterprise on a Monday afternoon.
LDS, help set me up in a rental vehicle and I drove back to Baton Rouge.
Had a new reman transmission put in on Tuesday and had my truck back Wednesday mid day.
Drove the rental back Thursday and LDS handled everything.
The shop said LDS was easy to deal with.
I am sure they probably make more money than they spend.
They took care of me and this transmission job easily justified the extended warranty.
I like that they deal with dealership and private shops. Never had an issue with LDS.

They almost never money out. We did an analysis of them a few years back and found less than 1% perform beyond the initial fee.
