How cold would it have to be to get a sheet of ice from one bank to the other in the southern more parts of the Mississippi River?

Cold enough that humans probably wouldn’t be around to see it.

Does water freeze at a different temp down there?

well ice freezes at 32 degrees but thats the clear slushy ice. to get the white ice inches thick so that sheets, you can get that starting around the 25 degree mark but it takes a while, like several days to a whole week

It's basic math really

h = 6.63 × 10-34 J.s = 4.136 × 10-15 eV.s G = 6.67×10-11 m3 kg-1 s-2 k = 1.38 × 10-23 J/K 0 = 8.85 × 10-12 F/m

It would need that and to quit flowing for that two weeks too

The question the OP is actually asking is an interesting one.

Probably need mostly cloudy and pipe exploding days. Then have it clear at night and get down deep in the negatives.

This Russia/Ukraine thing would need to get REALLY out of hand is my point.

would a snowacane help this process along with the intense winds blowing across the water creating a colder air over the water?

Flowing water still freezes at 32 degrees

It would need to be coming from somewhere warmer

This is not the Nile River that flows north. The OP was to make a sheet of ice of a body of water that is several feet deep and several hundred feet wide.
