Have made this for years, but it’s damn hard to find in northern Minnesota.

Recreating it is no big trick, but the one thing I can’t nail is the chili powder itself. I have about 5 or 6 different types in the cabinet I’ve bought at various bulk bins. None of them have the same flavor profile as the stuff in WF, and this is the linchpin ingredient IMO.

Anybody able to help with this?

Don’t know the chili powder, but really like his chili kit. The taco seasoning is awful.

There are copycat recipes on the nets you might try. Or I can give you a real chili mix recipe but you'll have to grind your own dried peppers. I did a big batch yesterday.

I think the secret is in the cumin....Just moved back from Wisconsin and it was impossible to find there as well. Good luck!

I don't know if it is what he uses, but the Burlap and Barrel Silk Chili chili powder is good. You can order it online. If there are any Mexicans up there, they will have a little tienda somewhere and it will have all the spices you need. Might even have some little old ladies in the back making tacos and tamales.
