PSA: Ride MARTA for the SEC Championship

MARTA is the light rail system in Atlanta, and you can park for free for the day at quite a few stations (the ones with cars below). You will need to buy a Breeze card for $2 in order to ride MARTA, but once you do, you can take a one-way trip between any 2 stations for $2.50, so $5 round trip, and you can reload the card as much as you want. The stations closest to the stadium are Vine City and GWCC/CNN Center, on the Blue and Green lines. If your starting station is on the Red or Gold line, you can change at Five Points, where they all intersect.

Do you know what MARTA really stands for?

I've done it numerous times boarding at Hamilton E Holmes station and never had a problem.

I took this for the playoff game against OU. It was a breeze and takes you right to the stadium.

Yeah, if anyone was wondering, that's the actual answer. They also have bus routes, but I've never ridden those, just the light rail.

Good guess on my part. I just looked up "other" acronym. Hmmm.

Lol yeah, that’s the technical definition. Not the local one as you just saw

I live in Georgia, so I have plenty of experience with MARTA. I used it for the SECCG and Peach Bowl in 2019 with no issues, and it saved a lot of headache once I got back to Doraville both times. It also goes right to the airport, so I've also used it for that.

Dunwoody station is my go to. Park in the parking garage. Smash a few beers in the car. Get on the train. Have to beer piss really bad halfway through the ride downtown. Try not to piss yourself. Transfer at Five Points. Piss in the bathroom at Five Points. Get on the blue or green line. Get off at CNN center or Vine City. Walk to the stadium.

That'll probably be my game plan too, Boat, just starting from Doraville instead.
