I think it’s multi faceted.
-They can’t get work on the type of shows they want
-They are vastly different politically than the original content creators
-Representation is required by most of the platforms so if they don’t write woke it won’t get the green light
-Some of them actually hate the fans of the IP and enjoy trolling them
-Many of them just aren’t very good. Keep in mind with all the platforms and channels more writers are employed than ever, it’s like the NFL where there are only so many QBs to go around

Yeah that seems like the least you can do find guys that appreciate the material their adapting to screen.

It's not uncommon. Some of yhe lead writers for the Star Wars sequel movies said they had never watched a single Star Wars movie/show before.
