Underappreciated note about this class: we have the best 3* commits in the country

Kyle Parker
Christian Braithwaite
Jeremiah Hughes
Paul Mubenga
Ashton Stamps
Dylan Carpenter
Our staff has been methodical in taking on lower ranked guys but they’ve slowly put together the best collection of 3*’s I think I’ve ever seen and it isn’t close. I honestly think you could put almost all of them in the top 200 and no one would bat an eye. Any of those guys could turn out to be a complete stud in college, shout out to our staff for finding real diamonds in the rough

Teams won’t even throw Stamps direction, not sure he’s allowed a catch all season. Dude is the definition of lockdown and has elite versatility as he can play CB, S , or NB.

I do think some of our 3 stars are a result of COVID and players not going to as many camps. Even if they truly are 3 stars they pretty much can RS and develop another year unless they are needed as rotation.

A lot of the time these 3 star guys keep that chip on their shoulder and grind at practice. Then the 5 star sees the effort and doesn't want to get passed up.

Saw Parker play on TV. Dude is a straight up beast.

I’ve said it before but on film, Kyle Parker looks like a Justin Jefferson clone.

I doubt our staff is looking or caring about the rankings.

Lol. I know people who work on the recruiting staff and they’re extremely aware of rankings. It’s not a coincidence that every major school is all over every 5* like stink on shite

Jefferson had about 3-4 inches on Parker. I dont see a whole lot of resemblance there other than they run great routes and get separation. I see Parker more in the vein of a Malik Nabers, Jalen Waddle type of inside guy.

Why are people always saying shite like this?

How, may I ask, do you know that they are the best 3* commits in the country?

Each school's scouting dept has their own recruiting rankings.
If anything, the recruiting services get their rankings from the school scouting departments.

What does height have to do with anything. That’s silly. Watch the style of play

Like what? That a future tiger has a similar skill set to a former tiger? I guess I didn’t think it was that outlandish

I think Parker is a legit stud, but he’s quite a bit smaller than Jefferson from a height perspective. Honestly, I think this is essentially the whole reason he’s still a 3*. Gotta keep in mind that the ratings/rankings are actually based on NFL draft projection (bc the draft is the best metric by which to measure accuracy in hindsight) rather than projected college production. Height is gonna be a much bigger obstacle for Parker in terms of NFL draft stock than I would expect it to be in terms of college performance. If recruiting rankings were pegged to projected college performance, I think Parker would be a borderline t100 guy.

Hoping my alma mater meets Parker's team in the 5A D2 playoffs. Lovejoy has been a buzzsaw this season.

Well if there’s a massive size difference between two guys, it’s pretty tough to call one a “clone” of the other.
Jefferson won tons of 50/50 balls during his time at LSU. I know we think of him as a guy who wins with route running—and he does—but the ability to go up and get it over top of a defender still is/was a big part of his game. That’s not going to be the case with Parker, regardless of how awesome I think he is/will be.
If you wanted to describe Parker as a miniature version of Justin Jefferson, I wouldn’t give you guff for that. But the fact is that the height difference IS a pretty significant factor when you compare the two.
