This is how some of the former LSU basketball players performed so far this week on their new teams:
Brandon Murray (Georgetown):

Eric Gaines (UAB):
23 min, 3/8 (38%), 11 points, 6 reb, 4 ast, 2 stl, 3 TO, 1 blk...in a blowout win over a bad Alabama St team
Alex Fudge (UF):
18 min, 6/12 (50%), 16 points, 3 reb, 2 TO...Fudge came off the bench against Stony Brook and had a good game in a big UF win
Efton Reid (Gonzaga):
12 min, 3/4 (75%), 8 points, 8 reb, 2 STL, 3 TO, Fouled out...Reid came off the bench in a blowout win over North Florida but fouled out in just 12 minutes
Jerrell Colbert (Kansas St.):
The coach has decided to redshirt him this season
Bradley Ezewiro (Georgetown):
Did not play in Georgetown's overtime win over Coppin State
Aundre Hyatt (Rutgers):
29 min, 5/13 (38%), 12 points, 10 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl, 1 TO...in a blowout win over Columbia
Bryan Penn-Johnson (Cal Poly):
17 min, 2/3 (67%), 6 points, 4 reb, 1 AST, 1 BLK, 1 TO...in a blowout win over a JUCO team
Josh Gray (South Carolina):
14 min, 1/1 (100%), 4 points, 6 reb, 2 BLK, 1 TO...in a tight win over South Carolina St.
James Bishop (George Washington):
33 min, 6/13 (46%), 21 points, 4 reb, 9 AST, 1 BLK, 1 TO...another year as a starter and a big win over a DII team
- Jalen Cook did not play in Tulane's opener because he's recovering from an injury still
....whew, thats a lot of former players

Efton Reid fouling out in 12 minutes….that’s hard to do

What about seneca knight

Notable about Brandon Murray.. Georgetown was up 3 with Murray at the line with 2 free throws, and he proceeded to miss both. Other team went down and hit a 3 to send it to OT.

Dude hates playing basketball. His philosophy is, the quicker I pick up fouls the quicker I can sit down on the bench.

no crap thought for sure he was out of eligibility, turns out he's on his 4th college team at Illinois State after transferring from BYU, via LSU, via San Jose St

Didnt include him though because technically he was never on the team here during a season.

Unfortunately for Reid this is a function of having lead in his feet. He did not move well his freshman year at LSU and that appears to be carrying over to his sophomore year.

And Murray, they both make this team better. Would be very controversial spreading minutes out enough at guard though between them 2 and Hill/Hannibal/Miller though. Granted Murray can spend time at the 3 easily with Wilkinson with his size.
And hot take nobody will agree with, but I'll throw Efton Reid in there too. He's better than a bench warmer center we'll have, but he would be behind KJ Williams.

Colbert basically redshirted here last season and now he’s really redshirting

I wish Gaines, Murray and Fudge had stayed.

It's where all conference MWC players go to thrive.

Yeah I dont really get that thought process. The KSU coach said this will be good for the future of the program. "Uh, hey coach, my other coach basically redshirted me last year too"

I definitely liked his upside although not sure he ever becomes what people hoped he would. Also I dont mind him leaving because he was one of those guys on the team last year who apparently threw in the towel a bit, which is why his minutes diminished to almost nothing.

At least he doesn’t have the pressure of remembering to put on his jersey under his warmup top

It’s going to suck having to play against Fudge

Of that list, the one guy I was hoping McMahon could retain, and one of the few guys I thought would reasonably consider staying due to family in Louisiana, was Fudge. It think he has some great raw athletic skill you can't teach an could be an eventual impact player at an SEC rival. Especially as a defender and rebounder.
That said, I'm excited to see if Jalen Reed can lessen the blow of losing Fudge. Reed does not have the explosive athleticism Fudge has. Nor probably the motor. But he is a more skilled player (especially on offense) at this stage in his development. Even McMahon himself candidly stated: "I've never coached a guy like Reed"...meaning 6'10 guys with the ability to play off the dribble don't make it to the Ohio Valley Conference. They sign with major programs.
I don't think Reed will be a first day, or even a first year starter. But I do think McMahon wants to find ways to get him into the game because LSU doesn't have another guy like him on the roster
