re: Why didn’t y’all tell me that a baby’s smile is the pinnacle of life?

My best friend has an 18 month old and man a highlight of my life has been going to play with her and doing sound effects with her little race cars . She fricking loves that shite and she laughs and runs around like a hyena and it’s adorable
Edit: another little subtle moment life throws at you, as me and my friend are watching football and babysitting her, I’m playing with the baby and look over and see my best friend in the world watching me and his daughter play together with this grin on his face like man how crazy life is. Here we are . The little things.

I just got back from dinner at a nice restaurant where my son climbed a tree and told the waitress her hair was gray.

I feel the same way about my kids, but what gets me is when I think about how finite my love for them is in comparison to the infinite love God has for them. That’s when my mind gets truly blown.

I've got my first one on the way right now, he'll be here in just about a month
I can't describe the weird mix of nervous, terrified, excited, and awestruck I am right now, but I'm sure everyone with kids here has felt it.
Can't wait to experience what you're talking about and more

Everyone is freaked out at first but you'll figure it out. It was a trial by fire learning event the first time for all of us.

It gets even better as they grow.
And then it gets worse…..
and then it gets a WHOLE lot better again!
Nothing better than 3-5 years old
Then nothing better than 21

My kids are 30, 25 and almost 22.
Baby stages were great
Teen stages were even great for us
Young adult was awesome
Now? It’s incredible. We don’t see them as much as when they lived with us BUT they’re amazing humans that we love to spend time with!

You’ll forget about that pretty soon

Our youngest is 16 and honestly not 2% of the problem that I was at that age for my dad. I was an absolute hellion in comparison. Boys are my biggest issue right now. FML.

The smile, the laugh, the giggle, even the frown.
Then if it's a girl at about 7 or 8, they develop attitude and that isn't cute
My 8 year old can cut eyes with the best of them, love every minute of it though!

Have a 2 month old baby girl. It's the best

Enjoy it now...Wait until the teenage years or until they start driving.

Y’all enjoy and cherish each moment. They grow up so quickly. My youngest is 18. It is like you get in a time warp as soon as your first child is born. You turn around about twice it seems and they are graduating high school and college.

You really don’t start living until they come into your life. It’s something you can’t explain to someone who doesn’t have kids. But it’s real. It changes you, actually it wakes you up and makes you understand why you exist.

Best time is around 6 months. Still cute, more interactive, can't get themselves into trouble yet.

I remember my first kid

So many good times coming your way. Cherish each and every one.

Just wait until they can toddle up to you and throw their little arms around you and say “daddy! Love you!”
