Afraid to shoot anything outside of the paint.
Not using his right hand on his drives.
Free throws.

Very disappointing so far.

His biggest issues are on defense. The team's biggest issue is that we sometimes try to square peg Zion into the game, instead of just going with the flow and it has a black hole affect. Seen it both against the Jazz and LA. Both games played out eerily similar, down big in the 3rd, Zion comes out, and we go on a run to erase the deficit (and then lose in OT).

We really need to stop feeding him in the post so much and have more of his touches come at the top of the key and let him get a head of steam.

And nothing OP said was wrong. His defense sucks. He's not as efficient as he once was. Its not like rust is stopping him from unleashing an outside shot. Name one thing he has improved since coming into the league.

I wouldn’t say he’s been “very disappointing” but I’d love to see his game expand and grow. Defense is an issue right now for him. And people won’t want to hear it, but he could stand to lose a little more weight and turn some of the chubby into more straight muscle (which he already has a lot of).

ETA: I agree with getting him off the block so much. I think his best “final form” would be a wrecking ball point-forward hybrid. Needs to sharpen his right side Drive and develop a shot though.

Very nice stat line. There are those of us in the flock however that think he has room to grow. Shooting open middies, using the right stuff to expand his game and make him less one dimensional and predictable. Which is scary to think about when he does. But it isn't happening yet. I think it will eventually.

He’s definitely improved his vision. He has 2-3 moments each game where he sucks the defense in and kicks out to wide open shooters.

But he’s not a winning player right now. -13 tonight, worst on the team. He’s our worst defender outside of Jaxson and still makes too many boneheaded plays like that 5 on 3 debacle.

I still have hope for him but he needs to stay healthy for a prolonged period of time in order to start developing a more well rounded game. And who knows if that’s even possible.

It's frustrating seeing then give him so much space on the 15 footer and he goes barreling in. Save your body bro take the shootaround open bunny lol

He is absolutely not a winning player. He's putting up empty stats right now. Theres a reason we went on a run in the jazz game and in this game when he was on the bench.

The pass to CJ was nice today also. He’s still young, so I believe he can grow. I remember people hating BI and now look at him.

The guy is 22. Name me a 22yr old in the league that has developed outside of their original skillset, much less after an entire year off.

Look at B.I.
He’s a dawg, and turning the corner at 24/25.

When BI was this age he turned from a 33% 3p shooter to a 39% 3p shooter. BI has gotten better every year.

Probably not the wisest to ask this in a Zion thread considering the dude that was selected right after him turned a corner last year at 22.

Man some of y'all are losing your mind because of a loss on Nov 2. Zion has played 5 games after missing over a year with players he has never played with before can the man get some time to get into a flow.

I think it's a fair discussion to have. Zion is really good and can become worldly fricking good, but I think some are realizing that he's been a lot more of a project than previously thought.
