LSU interest in Mel Tucker and Jimbo strong armed those two schools to over pay for them and put them in a shitty situation for years to come. Both teams are currently a dumpster fire

College Football as a HC (assistants too) is an eighty hour + job a week.

It's really fricking hard to work that much and maintain a high level of excellence.

Not many can do it. When money isn't a motivating factor because you have more than you'll ever need, things can go south.

LSU (we) have no room to talk. Look what happened with Special Ed. He won in 2019, got an extension and mailed it the frick in.

Not sure if they assisted in the demise of other teams, but the fact that 2 former LSU QB's (Johnson & Finley) transferred to 2 SEC West opposition teams and are having a shitty season is pretty karma.

Wasn't Justin Fuente a possibility on year? shite he isn't even coaching anymore. So much for being the hot hire.

You overthinking it. Tucker was using any school possible to get a better deal. We just happened to have a job open.

There should be little ill will towards Tj. He battled lost and in theory, wasn't going to see the field due to Max and at the time Miles. If I remember he was up front with O the whole time.

Don't forget about Penn State they locked up Franklin who won the confrence title once in 2016.

I agree. The big big contracts are often motivation killers.

I think we would have “been forced to hire” the Michigan state coach if he wanted to come.

Espn personalities would have made sure of that.

It’s not LSU’s fault a coach doesn’t perform.

But we only paid 15 mil.

Both of those guys are locked in at 70+ mil

What would A&M pay for a 2019 type season?

This all day long, and how many stops before becoimng a head coach 10+? The toll on families (Jimbo and Ed's wives and kids is unreal. For every Saban there are 10,000+ others...

Idk about that but if you want to talk about demise, Miami was never the same after 40-3. The mystique of "The U" completely vanished that night.

That tunnel "fight" (put it in quotes because fight implies both sides are throwing down, not a 10 on 1 ambush) between Sparty and Michigan reminded me of that game.

I was there at Miami game
It was glorious
Two Miami players had to carry the player that was knocked out the full length of field to get to their locker room he was out cold
We won battle of the bands
They played a Nintendo game on the screens and we won
Won the Dr Pepper challenge for a car and won the fight
Only negative was a glimpse into the future
We he received the trophy Miles congratulated the purple hesitation and gold
Told my son we may have a problem with this guy
