Cause that's the modern homeowners dream right??? A kicthen, living room, dining room combo.... rushing water when someone using the sink right behind you as your watching TV... conversations in the dining room draining out people in the living room...all walls must go!!!

We saw a house for sale a few weeks ago that took the open concept to the extreme. It literally looked like the builder built the entire house then realized he forgot the kitchen. So he stuck it in the corner of the living room.

It was horrendous looking.

And I blame Chip and Joanne for the white/gray/barn door/shiplap/country everything is the same color BS.

Never thought I see people ragging on open concept. I rather not live in little boxes.

This. I have an open everything and wish I didn't. It's as if designers in the past knew what the frick they were doing.

Yeah, because the alternative of having 14 rooms in a 2500 SF house is so much better

I understand the reasoning open floor plan is so popular, but this is exactly why I despise it.

It’s not unusual for me to spend the entire day on a weekend cooking with music going. Nobody would be able to watch TV or do anything in the living area if we had open floor plan.

This. I live in one. While we love the home and in 7 years when all kids are gone it will be perfect....right now, kitchen clean up time is a nightmare to a TV watcher.

But I like the current trends. We do have the big ol farmhouse sink. I wish it was divided.

You forgot pooping and flushing. Who doesn’t love a bathroom reminiscent of a Subway sandwich shop single shot unisex crapper opening up into the kitchen and living room.
