My trip for the Ole Miss game

I live 9 hours away, so I have to limit myself to one home game each year, and I decided to pick Ole Miss this year. As a preface, I also went to the Auburn game, and the people at the tailgate I met there told me where they usually set up for home games, and told me to meet up there if I came for Ole Miss. They treated me very well there, so I decided to do that.
I got to BR a little before 3:00 on Friday, and met Scuba and Wild at the baseball scrimmage. Jay does have his own scoring system, and he starts off each half inning with a bunt/hit and run scenario, which makes things confusing for scoring when the actual inning starts with a runner on base. That confused the hell out of me when Scuba asked me how he should score things, because it's so different with a runner vs. bases empty. And I was a witness to a Milazzo bomb to the left field bleachers. Afterwards, Scuba introduced me to two "candy ladies", who apparently give the team treats of some kind. One of them reads my BPB, and she really appreciated how positive I usually am. Like I said to her, I've learned to keep the negatives to myself, as there's more than enough already. It really brought it home how so many people read what I do, but I don't know anything about most of them other than their usernames, even though they're so dependent on the BPB. Probably the most famous I've felt in BR.
Anyway, I got to campus Saturday morning, parked in the golf course lot south of the Box, and found the tailgate from Auburn. They have a much bigger setup at home games, but still had the giant flagpole, so I recognized them anyway. They were serving breakfast food when I got there, and then boudin, burgers and hot dogs later on.
They also had a giant Kirk Herbstreit head on their trailer, I can't remember what the explanation was. But Kirk was the only one to pick us on College Gameday, so it must have been good luck. The weather was awesome as well. My original ticket was in the west upper, but someone at the tailgate had extra tickets in 243, so I ended up sitting there instead.
Once I got back to the tailgate after the game, a few of them asked me to come back for Bama, since we'd won when I went to the Auburn and Ole Miss games. If only I didn't live 3 states away. They had mostly packed up by then, but left the TV on for MSU @ Bama while traffic cleared out. I got back on Sunday with no incidents besides some minor traffic around Atlanta, totally worth it.

I’m guessing I should know this but what is BPB?

Play-by-play, especially for baseball. I usually post what happens each pitch during the season.

You picked the right weekend to act as our good luck charm. I enjoyed our visit during the scrimmage and look forward to doing the same at future games, perhaps. Consider the SEC tournament next year.

I've been to Hoover before, it was great. I was there when we won in 2017. We'll see what happens, I've already got quite a few road series planned.

Bi-Play-Bi silly wabbit.
Check out one of Cheer's baseball game threads and ask how many points LSU leads by.

You'd think so, wouldn't you? But no, someone (I believe Dro) made a typo, and everyone thought it was funny, so "BPB" stuck around as the term.

My takeaway is that you live 9 hours away

My trip:
Arrived Friday night. Drank 2 bottles of wine and ate a steak at Ruths. Got to campus at 10 Sat. Drank a gallon of bloody mary’s. Drank several beers at the game. Drank several beers after the game. Woke up Sun and came back to TX

You did it right! LSU won, btw.

You're a great Tiger, Cheer.

Great narrative. Surprised someone didn’t say “too long to read” (not me) Remind us how PBP evolved to BPB

Sorry, I see you already explained

Heck if I knew Cheer was in town I would have attended the Friday scrimmage.
You will have a lot of fun doing BPB this year as the baseball team is absolutely loaded.

Scuba where can I find these ladies? I’ve got a couple of questions.
