I have six hollies around my pool. They hardly drop leaves and are perfect for shade.

You don’t get a ton of berries in your pool?

I just checked out those Japanese blueberry trees. I like the way they look. And they would be about 10ft away from the pool.

The berries from a Blueberry can stain the pool deck/plaster and although listed as evergreen they drop the occasional leaf which tends to be red in color. Highly recommend a Eagleston or Savanah holly.

NO, NO, NO…that is what we have and the leaves drop all year long. The slightest wind will blow them into the pool at only 10 feet.

While I don't have a pool, I have about 15 Savannah Hollies in my yard as a "hedge" to block my neighbors' view and I would put them by my pool when I build a new house. They drop very few leaves and the berries drop straight down into the beds they are planted in.

NONE! I hate leaves in the pool... we have two large live oaks that don't even overhang the pool and it is a nightmare.

Tell me about it. It is a pain in the arse.
