Thinking about replacing the antenna on my truck with a 7 inch antenna. Curious if anyone in the BR area has done this and if AM/FM reception is same/better/worse.

if you only listen to local stations within 50 miles you are ok, otherwise, it is garbage and reception is shitty.

Stubbies look cool on cars but regular antennas fit just fine on trucks. I virtually never listen to terrestrial radio so if that is the case just use what you like.

Reception will drop to almost nil, especially with FM.

I prefer the 8 foot whip antennae

I replaced mine when I first got my truck, but it was stolen at a football game. Went back to the regular antenna a realized it’sa good feeler gauge for if your truck will scrap the roof in a parking garage. Reception sucked with the shorter one.
There’sa thread on flipping your regular antenna upside down on one of the tundra forums though.
