I swear some people look for it in every form of entertainment today. My friend (who's a cop) is like this. He even has a comment about every commercial. I can't watch TV with him anymore. It's non stop. I don't know. I just watched stuff to be entertained.

Ironically he loves the Terminal List and even buys the authors hats and merch online.

The poster was talking about the Jack Ryan series, particularly season 2.

That show was the epitome of 'woke', and there's simply no other way to describe it. The villain was Venezuela's ultra-Right Wing fascist dictator.
For those without any knowledge of the real world, Venezuela has been hard Left Socialist/Communist since the 1990's.

The story itself was tripe, you're not going to be able to storm the presidential palace and punch El Presidente in the nose (the season climax) either way. But the fact that they skewed the politics 180 degrees to the opposite, so they could have a 'popular uprising' being led by Leftists instead of the Right-wing opposition that actually exists, was a joke.
