Why did we rush the field in 2014 vs Ole Miss?

Both teams were ranked and we’re the bigger program and they’re Ole Miss lol

I was at that game and was surprised. But it did make getting out of the stadium a bit quicker, which is always a good thing when you're not in P&G.

Not sure why we rushed field just know the place was electric, was one of the loudest games from start to finish that I’ve ever attended. But rushing field for ole miss win was odd!

Students who never got to rush the field saw an opportunity.

It had been a long time since students had stormed the field.
Doubt any current students had ever done it. In the midst of a tough season, and with everything since 1/9 being such a downer, I got why the students wanted to celebrate a hard fought win in that moment.

Ole Miss was ranked 2 in the first ever CFP poll, we were barley ranked (24), it was homecoming if I recall, college game day was there, we had dropped to Mississippi State and Auburn already. It was a big upset and just had all the makings of a special day.

It was the snowball effect. A few people did it then everybody did

it was a little odd, but we seemed to be on a downward trend. if i recall, that was the year that both mississippi schools were tied for #1 at one point in the season. we had gotten destroyed by state and auburn early on. not much to celebrate that year.

They were ranked #3 in the country, we were #24. They were undefeated, College Gameday was there. It was a really hyped up game and we didn't have much to celebrate for a while. It was our biggest win in about 2 years.
Following 1/9/12, it was a little like being able to breathe a bit again.

shite was embarrassing
Not embarrassing to have a fan base that cares. Far less embarrassing than empty sidelines seats at halftime

They were a top 3 team and were undefeated at the time.
A bunch of teams had stormed the field.
It’s a lot of fun.

Les Miles (a cartoon character) upset a great but personally flawed coach in a upset. Agree in general OM isn’t worthy of that response but frick it who cares now?

The epitome of a Les Miles game - ran the ball 55 times and only attempted 16 passes. Despite that, the crowd was awesome. I had what I guess to be a 10 year old kid screaming and cussing like a sailor behind me all night.
I thought rushing the field was unnecessary, but I didn't lose sleep over it.
