Some coaches are not meant to be head coaches

Allen is one of them. I didn’t like the hire in the off-season and don’t like it now. He just doesn’t have the persona for it.

Good DC though.

thats why the haslett comparison is spot on

haslett failed miserably as a HC but he went back to just being a DC and he does well. im not saying he is a great DC, but he is a good DC

saying DA is jim haslett 2.0 is a spot on exact comparison, when he is fired, he will get another job as DC and be good at it

Lord I hated Haslett... He tore his drawers with me when he lied about Brooks being injured and kept Delhomme on the sidelines...

him and mcdaniels are elite coordinators, but they are not good head coaches.

although to be fair to allen, his offense is crippled with a crippled OC.

McDaniels is an offensive guru with a shite ton of talent, yet they're underwhelming.

I think we discount how great of a head coach Sean Payton was. Especially early on before the NFL neutered him.

Devil’s advocate. What did Allen do wrong today?

I feel like the Saints overachieved in this game and almost won due to overall gameplan.

We played the defending AFC champs to the wire without our top QB, DB, and top 3 WR! Please tell me the coaching errors you saw in this game? Sean payton lost games last year with backups. Give Allen a chance. It is too early to judge.

I doubt that there is any way to know but I'd love to know how much input Allen has during games. I'm sure a good bit on defense.

and that's where there has been disappointment. The QB sacks the Saints got today all came from the LB's (Davis 2, Ellis 1). The missed tackles in the secondary showed up again. Davenport got a hurry or two but other than that D-line had another mediocre day.

but offensively, how much or little is he monitoring things? I mean when you are short handed like we were today, you pull out all the stops and get the ball to your best players as much as you can. I don't think they did that and if you are going to lay blame on Carmichael well then I think it's more than fair to blame Allen even more. I mean you are the guy!

We’ve averaged 30 points a game since Dalton started. That’s drew Brees level offense.

Allen is suppose to be a defensive coach and we have given up an average of over 30 the last three games. That’s rob Ryan level defense.
