Re-watched it for the first time in 2 years.

GREAT show. Definitely not as good as Narcos, but definitely better than Jack Reacher.

There's a lot going on – you've got Isis, the Mexican cartel, the Italian mob and some weird family from New Orleans. But it's woven together extremely well. The musical score is elite.

It was actually made by some swinging dick Italian director for Italian television. If you've been looking for something like Narcos and don't feel like watching Narcos from start to finish for a 5th time, Zero Zero Zero will do the trick.

It’s a lot better than Narcos in my opinion. One of the best under the radar shows out there. Has a bit of Sicario/No Country vibe. Wish it would get a second season and follow another story.

I liked that they showed a less glamorous side of the Italian mob. What they are in some of the poorest parts of Italy today. Most people just remember them as the New York families living the high life. Also I could be wrong but I think the Mexican Cartel scene is meant to mirror the rise of Los Zetas. Started as the armed wing made up of ex military members for another cartel (in real life the Gulf). Became known for their brutal shock tactics. Eventually broke away and formed their own cartel. I don’t think it was ever stated by name but it seems to be at least inspired by them.

It would have been better if they hadn't spent any time of the Mexican punk that started his own army.

Is that the one where they burned a bunch of money for no reason in the beginning?

Lol, we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. Narcos is the greatest show ever with only The Wire coming anywhere close.

I mean they technically had a reason it just wasn't a very good one. I think burning money has become a movie/tv cliche at this point.
