Because of medical problems and medication I have issues with rapid tooth decay. My options include partial or full dentures or individual work on a number of teeth. Cost will be an issue but more concerned about issues if I choose partial or full dentures. Can someone help with info on dentures such as maintenance , inconvenience , comfort or lack there of and any other relevant issues. Thanks in advance.

If they are that bad, you may as well get an entire new set right?
What type of medical problems aside from a crack cocaine or meth addiction makes you lose your teeth? Just curious.

How old are you? The reason I ask is bc if you have your teeth pulled for dentures, and are young over time your jaw will begin to deteriorate. There are anchored dentures, and regular. Implants are the best but will run you about 50k.

Be wary of any of the corporate "one stop shops" like Aspen that promise same-day extractions and dentures. Your mouth will change drastically during healing and the denture you're fitted with that day will need huge adjustments that it will likely be very difficult to use after healing and may cost you more in the long run.
If you can afford it at all, keep what you have that's salvageable. Most people have good luck with full top dentures because they use suction to stay in place, but the lower jaw is tougher. If you can retain a few bottom teeth to anchor a partial(s) to, consider doing that.
If you absolutely have to have everything extracted, implants on your lower jaw would be ideal to use as anchors. They are quite costly as you'd expect.
Best of luck to you! It's never too late to start taking care of yourself and your overall health will improve once you get this situation under control.

Your 100% best bet is implant dentures, but the cost will be significant. It's also the only option that won't annoy the shite out of you for years to come. Partials, if you have enough real teeth for the partial to have a solid anchor, is your 2nd best option. But you'll have to remake it as your remaining real teeth decay or fail. Complete dentures just suck. Relearning how to talk and eat without them shifting constantly is difficult. They can be very frustrating for patients.

You need to talk with a good Prosthodontist, a dentist that specializes in implants and dentures. My fiancée is one and she works on medically complicated cases routinely. Vast majority of general dentists are not properly trained in implant or denture dentistry, do not know how to conduct the proper case planning, and will be unable to help you if an implant fails or if there is misalignment with the finished denture. Most only care about the aesthetics, have no idea how they can hurt their patients years down the road and waste thousands of dollars.

My dad just had all lowers pulled (4/22) and has temporary dentures until he can get implants. He had to get them refitted/adjusted about 4 times in 2 months. He still needs to get the implants so his bottom dentures will be more stable. He's had upper dentures for about 8 years now with no problems or relining.

With your option 3, What sort of individual work on several teeth are we talking about in order to save your teeth?

A dental school might be a cost effective option.

Don't get a prostodindist in the US. You'll pay $4-6k a tooth if implants and a snap ins are high too.
Go to Thailand or Portugal. Or even Mexico.
Get your whole mouth done with permanent teeth for under $6k.
