From The Advocate “LSU managed to overcome its problems in two previous SEC games with heart and determination, but Kelly knew it needed to execute to beat one of the most prolific offenses in the country. Instead the Tigers missed tackles, communication errors, more special team mistakes and a combination of offensive issues…”That’s the group we have,” Kelly said, and we’ve got to coach them better.”

TTT - LSU has enough talent to be more competitive, Kelly needs to lament the quality of some of his hires instead of placing most of the blame on players. The Advocate reported “Fans who wanted to leave looked at Kelly’s salary…They looked at the open elevator with nobody inside. Said one of them, “Make them take the stairs.” Tigers may have the patience to see a rebuild of players, but with their salaries, fans have no patience for LSU’s coaches.

Just two weeks ago you had a thread calling the staff “elite”. You are all over the place.

He is correct...LSU fans have always believed that we have equal or superio talent..a fallacy. However...it will get better...look with a critical eye at the OL. I watched Alabama vs Aggie last night...their OL, DL and RBs are just better.

What I’m wondering is if this offense is what we will see in the future or if they are just using a dumbed down version in year 1. All things considered, we have plenty enough talent on offense to be functional. You can’t tell me Lincoln Riley wouldn’t have the unit looking significantly better than this. It’s on coaching.

We played a bowl game eith 39 scholarship players. We recruited HS kids and transfers from all over. It was a true rebuild.

We aren’t loaded. Watch the game. Is our OL average SEC in quality? We had two freshman and a transfer starting. The cupboard was bare.
No TBs.
No LBs
No TEs
We are very shallow in talent.

If this team had a serviceable qb like Brennan that could use the wide receivers, which should have been a strength of the team, we would be competitive. We are by no means great, but would have won our first games and would have been more competitive against Tennessee.

The defense is better than they look because they are on the field too much and probably do not really believe in the offense.

The special teams are a problem and bringing Jaden Daniels onto this team was Kelly's biggest mistake. I do not think the team or the receivers believe in Daniels and Kelly is now trying so hard to prove he was right by bringing in Daniels that he is now destroying any team chemistry and making the problem worse.

We will likely lose all remaining SEC games.

Jay Johnson said the same thing about the 2022 baseball team. Will the reaction be similar?

Kelly hired an old buddy to be his OC, so no way Denbrock is getting blamed. Dude has great job security no matter how bad the offense looks. House isn’t bad…he’s the one actually working with the bare minimum. The offense has to keep up with the defense though.

Kelly is also an egomaniac that will stick with HIS decision at QB no matter what( 2011-12 Les Miles), especially since the #2 is a holdover from O’s team. No way he gives O the satisfaction of knowing he signed a decent QB if Nuss ends up performing better than JD.

I don’t think LSU has elite talent across the board anymore. Both talent and depth are an issue

Excuses, excuses. Kelly says all the right things except when he throws his players under the bus to save his own sorry azz.
