The status on the 2009 recruit Russell Sheppard. Any way someone like Rodriguez tries to sway him away from LSU with a promise to be a QB not an athlete?

We recruited him as a QB. It will be fine. Look up stuff on the recruiting board for more info.

Wrong board, BTW.

It's not like he's been actively recruiting for LSU or anything

LSU intends to play him at QB at some point down the road. Next year, they'll try to get him on the field in any capacity because he is a game breaker, but LSU isn't asking him to permanently change positions.

Before the whole Ryan Perriloux frick up, there was some talk about him being an WR for us (which I think is what he would prefer)...but unless Lee really comes out next year swinging he will probably steal the starting job.

And everyone who even thinks he is going to another school is a fricking retard partially for the reasons stated above.

per ESPN......

quote:

The only difference between Terrelle Pryor and Russell Shepard is five inches in height. In fact, through our evaluation, Shepard is smoother, more sudden (like Percy Harvin). Although he doesn't possess the same arm strength as Pryor, Shepard has a better release and has competed against much better competition. (For those who have not seen Shepard, imagine a right-handed, faster Pat White at West Virginia.)

For the guy who said Shepperd would rather WR your what i call a idiot. He had said 100 times that QB is where he wants to play.

the only people saying that Shepard will never be a QB are Texas fans. Because he committed elsewhere he'll never live up to his hype. Or "he would never see the field at Texas."

I think you are wrong on both counts.

Shep chose LSU over Texas because Texas wanted him as a WR.

And I really doubt Shep completely takes over the starting job. Shep will def get his plays(taking over Hatch's role) but I cant see him starting.

But that is a HUGE difference. Especially if he wants to play in the NFL. Shepard will not sniff the NFL as quarerback. He's too small and his arm is too weak. And I'm no Texas fan, but I don't think he'll ever be LSU's starting QB either. Let him run 5-10 plays a game out of the Wild Tiger or whatever, and the rest of the time line him up in the slot.

By NFL standards? Absolutely. And the NFL ball is significantly bigger and harder to grip than a high school ball. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just can't imagine that QB is where he'll play in the NFL.
