I can't wait until Wiggins is healthy and ready to contribute. He's going to be a beast.

On game replays, I’ve focused on Gaye. When it comes to pass rush, he doesn’t use his hands good at all. He allows OTs to get their hands on him too easily. He has no hand technique. And then OTs got him. He has improved in run support, containing the edge, but until he starts to use his hands better, he will not be a high impact pass rusher. I too would like to see Jones get more reps and always on 3rd & long pass plays. Jones has a higher ceiling.

Just not making plays we would expect of him. Simple as that. If he can put some pressure on LSU's pass rush becomes elite.

I was as critical of Gay last year as I could be. He was horrible in containment all year. Teams would line up and run simple outside veer runs and he was CONSTANTLY beat losing containment.
Hes not making noise against these shite teams? He sure won't show up for the big ones
It's not just Gaye - you've gleefully shite on the program and every player in it at every opportunity. If any of your posts sounded like reasonable opinion - for or agin - you might have some credibility around here.
The entire defense - including Gaye - are better at executing individual assignments this season.
But please do explain the "simple outside veer runs" Coach Yeoman. I don't remember any opponents running the Veer offense. When did we play an undermanned HS team?

Gaye has done better setting the edge this year, he just doesn't have the elite ability to get to the QB like some of his teammates. He's strong and a very hard worker and I'm glad he's on the team, but he just doesn't have the Ojulari/Perk next level pass rushing ability.\

When is he due back?

Yep.
CBK has pointed out his leadership many times, also.

His PFF grade is only a 58.0 on the season, he really hasnt been playing well.

He may be healthy now. By ready to contribute I meant the fact that the injury has slowed his development so he's behind in terms of practice and being conditioned and ready to play. I think he was a little raw coming out of HS from what I read so he may take more time.

He lacks the hips to readjust and run through a ball carrier. In his defense, he is big and doesn’t get washed away ever by a block. He almost always holds up his gap and forces a ball carrier to go wide allowing for dbs to make plays. He’s an anchor defensive end. He’s not going to be a dynamic tackler but he is doing a good job of winning his gap way more times than not

You want him to be the first player off the bus and out the tunnel.

The problem is bigger is not always better. He’s big to the point where he’s easy to get a hand on. Believe it or not, our d’line plays better without mason and ali. Still could use Mason, but go back and watch the film and see how our line is able to plug the run better by being smaller
Top 10 dumbest post ever. Maason Smith was unblockable.

Imagine this DL if Maason was still healthy. What a shitty blow that was game 1.
He was wrecking shite too. It was only 7 plays but he was in the backfield at least 4 of them.

In my opinion which is worth not much. I really think he needs to gain weight and become a strong side defensive end in a 3/4 scheme. He is 5-7 round guy in a NFL draft.
I believe the kid from st james is actually more talented at pass rushing, but is still coming along

Man I’m glad someone else noticed that this guy doesn’t impact the game or scare anyone.
My wife and I were watching the pregame Saturday and she said wow that guy looks like a beast…. That number 11
I said you see how clean his uniform is? When the game is over it will be just as clean.
Absolutely not a high caliber LSU edge guy. He does little to nothing.
