New Bermuda yard help

So I planted about 3 acres of common Bermuda around late June this year in south LA. My question is it to soon for weed control are a pre emergent? I didn’t know if I needed to wait a whole year to give the roots better establishment or if it was ok to put something down. The grass is still somewhat thin. My goal is to over seed in the spring and fertilize heavy with nitrogen next year to try and get it were I want it. TIA!

Don't apply a pre em. Just be ready to treat heavily for weeds next year.

When I did my backyard I didn't apply any pre-em. I focused on getting coverage first and treating weeds as they popped up. It worked out well.
Just hit it with nitrogen, water as needed, and cut often.

Need to do this as well. What brand bermuda seed?

We went with Hancock seed company. It’s was a common Bermuda seed. It was coated and unhulled. Now if you got a good seed bed you could probably just go with a hulled coated seed.

I used Hancock as well. I went with Princess 77 (now Arden 15) but that was very unnecessary and I could have used a lower quality seed. But it looks fantastic.

Arden 15
Great looking grass but pricey

I did a small home putting green with some Arden(I think that’s what it was). I’m waiting until next year to get it down to a good length. I went ahead and have sprayed blindside 2 times to control some of the weeds. It was a risk I was willing to take because it was a small area. I don’t even recall it knocking the Bermuda down at all. Looks great now.
