The first time I heard Rain when I Die from dirt I was fricking floored! I frickin love that song.

The bass in that intro is strong. Then comes in the shredding by Cantrell. Great song.

Was coming here to post that today is the anniversary.

The greatest album of that genre, and maybe of the entire decade. Dirt was so influential in bridging alternative and metal, you can still hear it in modern rock even today. Solidified Jerry Cantrell as one of the great guitarists, and this was Staley at his peak (unfortunately their last full tour was supporting Dirt due to his issues).

And to the previous point, it's such a great album that everyone's favorite song wasn't even a single, but just look at the tracklist. So many classics.

1. "Them Bones"
2. "Dam That River
3. "Rain When I Die"
4. "Down in a Hole"
5. "Sickman"
6. "Rooster"
7. "Junkhead"
8. "Dirt"
9. "God Smack"
10. "Intro" (Dream Sequence)
11. "Hate to Feel"
12. "Angry Chair"
13. "Would"
