Conspicuously absent from the list of Florida officials Biden has contacted was DeSantis.
Later in the press conference, Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Deanne Criswell brushed aside questions regarding the apparent snub.
“The president is very focused on making sure the federal family has the right resources to support this,” Criswell told reporters. “That is why I contacted the governor right away, and we have a team of my senior leadership embedded with the governor to make sure that we’re supporting that.”

I love making fun of Biden too, but lets not pretend like a phone call from Biden is something anyone wants to sit through.
Are we really going to pretend like a phone call from Biden to Desantis would save lives when we know Biden doesn’t even know what day if the week it is?

Desantis is probably busy and happy that his time has not been wasted by having the white haired rambler call to lecture him on climate awareness. Maybe he can fire up his jet and fly there now if someone tells him the storm has passed a few days ago and he and his wife need to go fake being concerned and explain how much money he is going to need in Nancy's next big spending bill.

It's a symbolic gesture, a gesture which POTATUS refused to make because DeSantis is his political enemy and the likely Republican nominee for 2024
Literally no one is pretending that a phone call from POTATUS would accomplish anything
It's all about having the class and dignity to make the gesture for the good of the American people during a time of crisis
