What if Florida and Georgia would have still put up 50+ against us but we would have still won the game? Would there still be consistent bashing of the DCs?

No, not to say they wouldn't deserve some bashing, but people wouldn't be all up in arms because winning is the magical elixir for every trouble

Probably not as bad. But this conversation has been going since Miss State. Then Florida. First half of SC. and Georgia. Unfortunately this hasn't just been a problem in the losses.

but for the most part to the average fan:

winning outshines everything else.

You brought up something that makes you think about it.

We played great the 2nd half against SC so it is not like we are able to NOT play good defense. Honestly, I think it is there and there were some good moments against Georgia. If we get it together for the rest of the season we can still finish 11-2.

probably not but you cannot ignore the fact that you allow another team to put 50 points on you!--

I'd still be pissed after watching that shitty Defense, Just like I was pissed after watching MSU run up and down the field on LSU this year.

Why? I see it as overcoming your weakness and still getting the job done.

It always depends. The way a defense manages a game and play calls changes depending on the score of the game. If we had a huge lead and played scrubs, then no. If we had a huge lead and played prevent, no.

If we needed to stop them and the defense consistently let us down and the offense needed to bail us out, no.

We are counting on a first year qb in the SEC to bail out the suboptimal play by a supposedly ultra talented defense. We should be expecting the ultra talented defense to keep the game close and win with a powerful running game.

Sorry, I don't think we would be winning with Matt Flynn here. The defense just isn't good enough.

South Carolina has had inconsistent quarterback play all season. Wasn't that the SC Qarterback's firs start?

Is SC's offense better than MSUs?

Yes. There was before the Florida game when we were allowing anemic Auburn and Mississippi State to move the ball and score on us better than they had on anybody.

And when we criticized the defense, we were told to STFU because the defense hadn't caused us any losses yet, so therefore it was impossible that we could be having any problems on defense. Of course, now that the inevitable collapses against offenses with a pulse have happened, all those same people are saying of course it was obvious we had problems on defense.

Our defense didn't give up 50 points in this game. People don't seem to realize that.

No, only 450 yards of total offense and 5 TD drives of 63+ yards. And they would have scored 50... if they needed to.

LSU is ranked #9 in the SEC in total defense. The SEC only has 12 teams.

YES! The last DOMINANT performance we have had of a GOOD team was Va Tech, last year.

Since then we have beaten some good teams but have yet to truly DOMINATE one. UK, UF, AU, Bama, and AR-kansas ALL scored pretty well against our defense. The signs have been there but most fans only worry about issues when we lose.

Many praised Miles for going for it on 4th down against UF and said he had "Big Balls" and what-not. Hell, he did it b-cuz he knew that UF would go up and down the field if we punted to them. Kinda like this year, we had no answers for Tebow and co.
