A BCS Bowl

Been doing some thinking:
Penn State and Texas win out
Florida wins out (including SECCG)
LSU wins out... WE CAN BEAT BAMA
Rose Bowl would be USC vs either Ohio State/Georgia/or LSU.
They would not go with Ohio State (USC already killed them and the disgrace of last year's Rose Bowl against Illinois.)
B/T LSU and UGA, LSU will have a 5 game winning streak and UGA will have won 3 in a row. Everyone's been waiting to see LSU/USC so I'd say we'd get in despite losing to UGA.

I think you're underestimating how backwards the Rose Bowl Commmitee thinking is when it comes to the Big-10

Didn't you learn from last year that the Rose Bowl committee would rather see USC destroy a middle of the pack Big 10 team than have any SEC team in their precious bowl game?

they would actually possibly invite us this year because they know they could probably give us a beating after checking past scorelines.

strangely we probably have a better shot at being in a BCS bowl than making it to the SEC championship game.

Once Oregon State runs the table, USC will be left playing in another bowl game.

How are we getting to a BCS bowl? Even if we beat BAMA.
BAMA goes to the SEC championship, even if they lose they'll get a BCS bid over us.
Winner of SEC championship get's auto bid.
And Florida or Georgia, whoever doesn't make it to Atlanta will get a bid over us.
So, for us to get a BCS bid, there would be 4 SEC teams.

But FWIW, I personally think if Penn goes to the national title and OU loses one of their last two regular season games (very possible), the Rose Bowl will take an SEC team. The committee's love for tradition is over stated at times. Only time I have seen it is when they picked up Illinois over Mizzou/Kansas/West Virginia.
I still believe that they were seriously considering picking up LSU in 06 until the last minute upset radically changed the BCS and forbid the Rose from picking up that option. Why on earth would they want to do a rematch of USC/OSU when the first one wasn't really that good.

Do you honestly think we can beat Bama. Any team that has a well throwing quarterback and a good running back is going to dominate us. Just wait for John Sarah Jessica Parker Wilson and Glenn Coffee. I wouldn't be suprised to see 50 put up on us again.

If your analysis is correct he is. But it isn't.
The only competition LSU will have for the BCS at large bid is the loser of the UGA/UF game. The SEC champ loser does NOT get a bid.

they put michigan in that game 3 times this decade and they got killed every time, i think the pac-10/big-10 will happen every time unless there are no BCS eligible teams (top 12 i think) left in these conferences. OSU will definetly be in the top 12. They woun't lose again.
