Hmmm, my think or swim has not updated yet, I don't think.

If you have or use the iPhone or iPad app, you’ll know it as soon as you go in to enter a stock or options trade. I haven’t looked at the desktop platform today. Not sure if they’ve updated that or not.

I actually once did something very similar on some AMZN spreads that were entered over a couple of days.

I was trading more equity options then and did that when I entered some new spreads on top of some existing ones. Glad you made it out without any damage.

anyone who has been trading long enough has screwed up an order. I've shorted 100 shares instead of longing. Usually recognized it instantly though

LOL!

When I was on Think or Swim (talking 15ish years ago), I made 2 mistakes on the same stock.

I had set an order to sell at an increase, or so I thought. It was an order. So I ended up with 2 x times the amount of stock on a very volatile stock. My account was moving extremely fast.

I was up about 3K when it purchased (the first error). I thought it sold and was happy! BUT MY ACCOUNT KEPT MOVING. I saw the mistake and sold it because it was going down. SECOND MISTAKE was that I sold only half... So After thinking I got lucky and caught it....

The second error I finally saw and sold the rest off at a loss of $125.

Young, dumb play too!

Looking back at it I should have just left it because still had -10 and then +10 (+5 at 2 strikes) just wasnt a true vertical spread but a ratio of sorts, assuming it would expire the same as a normal credit spread?

It was a lot of money! That account was well above Day Trader cash. It terrified me. To this day, I still double check

Was able to close out of ZM position this morning for near full credit amount. Took TOL 82/86 SVC and may take a SVP later on today if premium looks better

Sell 82, Buy 86 short call spread (vertical) for a small premium credit of .30 at <.05 delta (so high probability of expiring worthless to take full credit). I am only taking pretty small lots of these <10 so have to be a little careful on taking profits early as I am learning the commission and fees eat into that premium fairly quickly. For example every lot has $2.18 C+F so if selling 5 SCV at .30 for $150 credit then right off the bat I pay a $10.90 C + F to execute the trade and if I let it expire then great I will make a decent profit however since the credit is small relative to the C+F then if I decide to take an early profit at .05 debit then I pay C+F again on the backside and eat into additional profits per lot

Got crushed on DKS earnings play from yesterday. Debating whether to take assignment or do a super long roll.

Maybe if the trading settles back up on Dicks you can find a decent roll out

Speaking of SE I now see I took early assignment even though I rolled out to 25 AUG last week. On to selling CC's

Best of luck.

I think the 120 DKS puts went from like 16 cents to $8.00

I’ve looked at it, mainly because the IV and premiums tend to be higher than SPX, but I’ve never traded options on it. I’m not able to calculate the daily trading range as accurately as I can SPX.

Yikes! Hopefully there’ll be a post earnings bounce.

Thanks Jag, I played NDX yesterday for the 1st time and agree the premium are better but the range is much wider and fairly volatile. I can see myself only putting in a position when I have a little more time to watch carefully.

I will look at ASDK and DLTR as LSU_Omaha recommended earlier in the week and hopefully find a decent entry before earnings call this afternoon and tomorrow morning.

Also looking at SNOW with IV and % in decent range.
