Jag, I followed ya boy Tony at Tasty on a TSLA iron condor. He did a strangle I think but similar short strikes

This is how I have been setting up most of my 0DTE SPX trades, albeit I have been taking one side initially then waiting for market direction to enter in the other leg.

Has it been working for you on the 0 DTE? I haven't started researching a strategy yet.

So far yes, that being said I did have 1 roll on the call leg earlier in the week that I was able to sell yesterday and maintain profit.

Now on NDX it is too early for me to tell, as mentioned yesterday I took a partial loss b/c I could roll the lower leg at last moment when selloff went thru my sold put. I have call and put spread on now but using some pretty wide ranges to help reduce the volatility risk and still get decent credits.

Good deal. Keep us updated.

BTW- I think I'm going to roll out the DLTR. Don't really want to spend 4 figures on assignment but it's too good of a stock to take a loss.

Did this exact thing this morning for the same reason. I rolled to 1 SEP 125/115 which is still technically out of the money and could get assigned but felt like it would be above that early next week and willing to risk.

He and Tom tend to go with higher deltas than I do, but their picks are typically good ones. They’re able to deal with those higher deltas with excellent trade management.
Did you get the deltas and credits you wanted?

Exact same thing that I tend to do - especially with the short dated SPX trades. Even on equity earnings trades, very seldom do I put on both sides of an iron condor, strangle or jade lizard at the same time.

Anybody looking at any decent earnings trades for tomorrow?

Looking thru the scanner I don't see too many with decent IV plays. HPQ, BBY and BMO all floating in the 30's IV & %

I’m not finding strikes I like for 0DTE SPX IC/strangle trades either. VIX has slid back down because of the recent rally and the price action makes the deltas I’d typically choose a no man’s land IMO. With the changeover to Schwab approaching, today will be the last day that I’ll trade this week anyway.

I took some lower legs this morning in SPX and already exited those at around 60% however misread direction completely after jobs report and consumer index thinking the rally was a bit of a false jump and took some long legs in SPX and NDX which if it doesn't correct around late lunch time I will have to roll out.

I have some Iron Condors on Tesla for October so I'd prefer for that stock to chill out a bit.

You went long some short dated puts? Sorry, didn’t understand.

That rally was a rocket. I put various SPV & SCV orders in and took them off within minutes. I have 12 canceled orders on my screen! Couldn’t get a handle on the market sentiment until later in the morning. My early morning 4415 SPVs on SPX (that I killed) would have been fine, but even my SCVs at 4515 looked iffy for a bit.

I might put on a small CRWD play for tomorrow, but I’m now essentially done for the week.

I'll have to check. Honestly I forgot which way I played it.

Also, I played CRWD before I saw your post. Ended up going with 132/122 spread for .85

I did have some SVP's this morning that made out ok but what I was referring to is the SVC's on SPX/NDX that I thought were well above the range for the day and turned out not to be. I also still had a roll from Friday in NDX that I couldn't get closed out yesterday so actually had to do 3 rolls today. Had to take some bigger losses than I wanted in the rolls and still have some risk tomorrow so hopefully they hit some resistance and pull down a bit.

OK, now I understand. Until it hit resistance at 4500, it seemed set to break above that late in the session. Hopefully you can roll the call sides til this rally subsides.

Guys, CRM (Salesforce) is on deck for earnings after the bell today. 39% IV, 41% IV percentile.
