I don’t get that one at all. Gumps’ lack of shoes and literacy really should put them at the bottom, imo.

Edit: Just kidding; I’d rather have an Alabama neighbor than a carpetbagger.

Can we get a definition of what livability means?

In that case, Arkansas would be your best bet because of NWA.

It's dumb to rank entire states for the most part. Quality of life is generally pretty localized.

There are shitty and nice areas in all of those states. If you live in a shithole area in Texas a nice area in Mississippi would be an improvement.

MS coast is easily 10x nicer than South LA. Delta needs to be abandoned though

It depends where you live in each state. Overall Louisiana isn’t great but if you live in a nice area it’s pretty good.

As much as it pains me to say it, Alabama is a much nicer place to live than Louisiana in 2022 and it's widening that gap.

Absolutely, a city rank would be more accurate. Mississippi overall sucks but I love Oxford.

The only SEC school I would be ok with to send my kids to is UGA.

I don't care where my youngest goes to college because I don't think it matters that much. Nobody cares where you went to college 6 months into your career.

I agree. Most majors are useless anyway.
