if you know the loss is inevitible why not go ahead and get a jump on traffic?
we need to start gathering the usernames of all who think its ok to leave early and post it on the ticketexchange board. tell people to avoid selling to these people because they don't deserve to see the tigers play. sell tickets to fans who will stay and appreciate the team and the game

Well this is a new discussion, thanks for bringing it to our attention.

I suggest that all season ticket holders be given a lie detector test prior to renewal. If you leave early - no renewal for you!
Sheesh - get a friggin grip people.

I agree 100%.
THE sol called fans talk about the team and coaches giving up, but who actuall quit first - the fans who left early as well as those in this chat room who have given up on the team.
A true fan is in it 100% before, during and after the game and season. Those who waiver are not.
But don't misunderstand, I am disappointed in what hsa occured until now but am still optomistic about what lies ahead.
Whether I end up being happy or not, I will continue to support the team as a TRUE fan would.

Ah - a true fan definition.
So - let's see. If I give money to the TAF, go to all of the local fund raisers, go to the home games, make a few road games, but I leave early due to an abysmal performance, I am not a true fan? But,if I go to just one game, stay to the bitter end, and do nothing else, I am a true fan?

Its unacceptable that people left early? Please. Whats unacceptable is the way the D was playing. When Georgia went up 38-17, what made you think the D would step up and make it an interesting game to watch?
Oh so its about how much you are entertained is it? What a selfish comment. Those guys work pretty freakin hard. How encouraging do you think it is to see your "supporters" leave the stadium while the other team's supporters get louder and louder. People likke you can leave the game early and never come back as far as I'm concerned. That would at least make it easier for the real fans to get into the game.

I'm pretty sure most people on here work pretty "freakin" hard, and yet if we screw up our boss is going to correct us or come down on us. You own your business, screw up the prices, people are going to let you know by not shopping there.
LSU fans leaving is the equivalent of not shopping there and that is what happens when a business screws up. You fix it or lose your customers. You people seem to forget this is a business that LSU is running. When they start letting people in for free and giving out free concessions I'll believe their number one priority is the community it serves and not its pocketbook.

as people were leaving my section in the southendzone in the 3rd quarter, I was yelling my arse off at them telling them to give their tickets to some real fans the next time they think about going to a game.

LSU isn't a business and that is where you screwed up. It is a school! It is a state flagship. You don't waiver because it doesn't suit your expectations!!!

Do you pay money to get in? Do you pay money for just about everything you do there?
If your answer is "yes" then it is a business.

Certainly didn't help our recruiting either. I am sure it was very dishearting to those recruits who were thinking hard about giving a commitment to the Tigers.
LSU definitely could have came back and won the game. Thank goodness our team does not have the quitter mentality that large part of our fan base has.

They dont lose me. They lose selfish people like you. And I consider that a good thing. So I suppose that since you have taken your college football business elsehwere, you are now a Texas fan right? I mean, you gotta stay on top of the market in the business world and Texas is where its at. So go give your business to some other team. We here at LSU do not want your business.

I am an LSU grad and have been a fan for as long as I've been living...
I have season tickets, been to many away games, both recent NC games, and have spent tons of money on LSU merchandise throughout the years.
so if John Doe from Alexandria jumps on the LSU bandwagon, buys a toonces shirt from Wal Mart, gets a ticket to the Tulane game and stays til the end....that makes him a "better fan" because I left at the end of the 3rd?
bullshite

Football is entertainment. When the entertainment stops, then so does my watching it. To continue to watch something that you don't enjoy is the very definition of ignorance. You gonna sit through a movie you hate just because you want to support the actors and movie studio?
I didn't think so.
So you think leaving and getting an extra hour on Saturday afternoon is much better than staying, supporting the team, and having a good fan showing for the recruits.
Everyone who left early is effectively telling the recruits that we are horrible and they shouldnt come...thus you do not want a good football program. Idiots.
