I am an LSU grad and have been a fan for as long as I've been living...
I have season tickets, been to many away games, both recent NC games, and have spent tons of money on LSU merchandise throughout the years.
so if John Doe from Alexandria jumps on the LSU bandwagon, buys a toonces shirt from Wal Mart, gets a ticket to the Tulane game and stays til the end....that makes him a "better fan" because I left at the end of the 3rd?
bullshite
Money does not equal fandom.

Everyone who left early is effectively telling the recruits that we are horrible and they shouldnt come...thus you do not want a good football program. Idiots.
If LSU never wins another national championship I could care less as long as my family is happy and healthy for the rest of my days. So getting an extra hour with them definitely trumps watching LSU get beat.
I hope that helps the rest of you zealots understand the point.

then don't go the the fing game!!! stay home and watch with your family.

Yep - I bet the recruits gave a damn about having 50 plus scored against them in 2 out of the last three games, but are ready to de-commit because a packed stadium of 90,000 plus left early. In addition to a lie detector test for renewals, how about an IQ test to post here?

I bet everyone would stay if TAF rescanned your ticket upon exiting and took away a couple priority points.

Exactly. Apparently you weren't home playing monopoly with your kids and tending to their college funds and protecting your wife all day yesterday. Stop trying to dive into the world of care and responsibility. We know what your motives are, to try to make people feel bad that we are bashing fair weahters. If the family care and responsibility world is that high in your life, then dont spend family savings on LSU games, because LSU games are not as important as having emergency funds for your family.

Perhaps a system where you are requirred to have your ticket stub scanned as you exit Tiger Stadium. Prior to receiving your season tickets, they could tabulate who is a true fan and disperse accordingly.
Or a tracking chip inserted under your skin at the graduation ceremony. The university could then track your movements and determine if you spend enough time in Louisiana and on campus. If you don't put in the hours, you don't get tickets.
Maybe a FAQ list posted on the scoreboards, letting fans know when they should stand, sit, shout. This would be where the chips would come in handy, giving us an electrical shock as a prompt to cheer.
I'm still trying to work the beachballs into the equation. Those are new.

didnt say that it did. making a point that anybody can stay til the end of a game...but that doesnt make them a "better fan".
it I want to leave a little early to grab a beer or beat traffic, so be it...and that doesnt make me a "bad fan"
it happens in every stadium. get over it.

I have never, seen a nationally televised game have so many empty seats early in the 4th quarter, as was shown Saturday in Baton Rouge. What a total disgrace.

NO! you didnt hear? if you dont stay until both teams have left the field and the custodians are sweeping up popcorn, then you are not a true fan.

You should read before spewing your venom as I said I did stay home with the family. I didn't give LSU a dime yesterday, nor have I since they won their first NC.
In fact, I never said at any point that I did go to the game, that was just an assumption for your argument.

Well besides your family what do you want out of life?? What is your passion?!!
Posted on 10/26/08 at 1:53 pm to pellietigersaint
I totally agree. The TEAM never gave up and was still fighting hard in the 4th Qtr. I stayed until the end...and would not have left NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!! And, I had a four hour drive back to Shreveport. If you don't want your ticket for the FULL game...give it up to someone who does! So...I totally agree with the embarrassment over people leaving. It was a disgrace

Uh, you have to be at the games now to have any opinions? Wow, we are getting crazier by the minute. I'm pretty sure those seats were just as easy to see in HD as they were in real life.
