What used to be in this property (Highland at Lee)? I found a video. The interior is bizarre but interesting.

It was a Berkshire Hathaway real estate office and an antique store i think? I have lived right down the street for pretty much my entire life and have never been inside that building

In the early 90s it was one of those upscale mini-shops places where overcapitalized second and third wives opened up tiny shop spaces selling candles or specialty teas so they could have something to do while their husbands were off working to pay for the money-losing shops their second and third wives had in that building.

Holy crap, that’s where they’re moving?

That building has been for rent for years. The owner is likely desperate, but TBH I didn’t think it was set up for residential living or even had the right zoning for it.

That corner is on the brink of becoming iffy with the closure of the gas station by Walmart bringing the trashy folks across the street. And we don’t know yet what is being built where it was. Plus they opened some sort of sketchy smoke shop.

This building they’re moving to is just far enough away from the residential homes near it that it might could work without bothering too many people. Although directly behind it is old apartments that houses mostly foreign families with young kids, and a small Korean church.

I’m guessing they just want to rent it to hold social events because I’m not sure how you turn that into living quarters. The layout inside is not really made for that and I doubt the owners are going to let them make those kind of changes
