Knee pain below knee cap

Hurt my knee jumping several months back. Can function doing everyday activities but have lost all faith in pushing the knee to do anything athletic. Pain is right in the middle of my knee directly below the knee cap. Patellar tendon/meniscus area. Anyone dealt w pain in this area? Keep thinking rest will do the trick but can’t shake it. Trying not to chalk it up to getting old. In late 30’s…

Go to a good sports med ortho.
I had knee pain and swelling..:and was worried I’d torn something. $200 and some xrays (included) later he said everything looks good and I just strained it.
Well worth it to know what’s really going on.

So you paid $200 for nothing. How about go to a fitness forward PT for 1-2 visits a week and learn what’s causing symptoms and how to deal with them

Start KneesOverToes zero program now.
You may have any range of issues, but this program helped me avoid surgery on a complex meniscus tear. My progress is amazing.

Sounds like it could be Patella Femoral Pain if the pain is right your knee cap. Pretty easy to treat with some NSAIDs and some home exercises.
Terminal Knee extensions to work on your VMO and then work on quad/hamstring flexibility.

My doctor dumbed it down form me and told me I had runner's knee
But, that is exactly what it sounds like. Rest will relieve the pain, but increased activity will bring in back until it's properly managed (therapy, proper stretching, learn limits). Go check out your ortho, get some P/T, and you should be good to go (set backs will happen)

I have been helping people with chronic joint pain recently. I had patella tendonosis on my left knee for 3+ years that I couldn't shake. I built the first one and started using it in Spring of 2020 and I was nearly pain free within a few months. I continued working out while using it, too. No pain today.
I'm currently using it on my neck and it's kicking that pain's arse inside of a week.
It's called the JPAK: Joint Pain arse Kicker.

Sounds like patellar tendinitis. Rest, NSAIDS, stretching, massage all helps. At a certain age you gotta ease into high levels of activity.
Had a similar injury several years back from too many breaststroke sets in swim workout. After 3-4 months knee was back to normal

Had the same thing. I got a cortisone shot and started cardio on the elliptical machine. I also take Osteo Bioflex daily. Pain free now.
