You don’t need a pastor to interpret it, Jesus said it. The Roman government wasn’t exactly great to Jewish people when he said it. Money was a government creation so the government has dominion over it. Intentionally not paying what you owe would be stealing, which would prevent you from the unimaginable riches of eternal life in heaven.

I disagree. The American government is stealing from its people. One cannot steal their own money from a thief.

Jesus's statement does not presume a religious obligation to pay taxes. His response dismisses any heavenly implication of paying taxes to Caesar.
