Royal China, in New Orleans.

It seems BR has completely surrendered itself exclusively to the feeding slop at the trough version of Chinese.

I've been meaning to ask this same question for a while. I've tried Hunan, and it's ok, but nothing special. Is Taste of Asia any better?

Taste Of Asia is BR's best local Asian/Chinese restraunt.

Then there is PF Changs..yes Tulane..a chain.

Ever since MK Wong sold Chinese Inn-Airline to his cousins..BR has become a Chinese Restraunt Wasteland!

Little Saigon, Pho Q, Cafe Dang, and Duang Tawan, all of which are hit-and-miss..and not Chinese.

What I wouldn't give, for an egg roll from his brother's old place on Fla. Blvd.

It's a damn shame.

MK is retired, visits family back in China often. Chinese Inn's best chef is retired back in Houston now? Go visit his brother Kit and his sons at Ichiban, they run a good sushi joint, much much better than his average Mandarin restraunt was(sans the Mongolian stir-fry)..

I lament to Kit constantly about missing Chinese Inn at Alamo Plaza or Airline's Pork Fried Rice, homemade Eggrolls, Peking Duck,etc..all of which are as good or better food, than I've had in SF, NYC, LA, LV, etc..

BR is so freaking goofy.

Chinese dudes running a Japanese place, while all the "Chinese" places now seem to be run by Vietnamese folks.

Yep, Derek Chang of Koto, also Chinese, yet a fab sushi chef...his sister is beautiful!

I always tease Kit, asking how is it that he runs an A+ sushi joint(don't like their teppan/teriyaki though!)..yet Mandarin was a B- lunch buffet fare Chinese place?

Hunan OK, at Taste of Asia the soups are better than the entrees, to me anyway. But TOA has that annoying blonde lady that always comes to my table and talks to me.
